We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Reeves and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, how do you think about risk?
I think risk is required for life. Especially when you are treading in unfamiliar territory and creating a new reality for yourself you have never experienced. In order to succeed in life you must take risk. I remember when I was at the crossroads of going into business full time. I was working a job as an enrollment specialist, and honestly my work started to suffer. I was just over it! I had all the signs telling me it was time to go but I was so committed to what was familiar and could not see away out. My previous supervisor called me to the carpet about the quality of my work. I knew personally that I was already in a slump and I was tired of acting like everything was okay with my job. After that conversation I called him with tears streaming down my face, and said, “It is time for me to go!”. I was not letting anything familiar keep me in a box anymore. In April of 2020 I started a mobile meal and catering company called B.Cooking. I had been catering part-time but needed my steady income from my 9-5. So know I am at the crossroads of leaving my steady job to invest in my own business full time. So I made the leap. I had to take the “freefall” that is the leap that you take knowing that the outcome may result in you failing or succeeding. .My resolve was to just do it! At least I’ll die in pursuit of what I wanted for my life. Every since I took that risk, I have experienced magical things with my business and my personal life. Live with passion, Take the RISK you are WORTH it!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
B.Cooking is a gourmet mobile meal and catering company. What sets me apart is not only do we provide food for an event we are able to provide full décor and dining service needs. We pride on attention to detail and making sure your life moments are unforgettable. We will bring the WOW factor to any event that you may be hosting. I am most proud that people are supporting this business and trusting us with their most precious moments. B.Cooking has been fortunate to have people supporting this business and that is what is helping us grow. To be honest so far this journey has been easy because it is something that you organically love it evolves and makes room for you. People are able to feel the passion and love you work. Of course my journey is new and when it becomes challenging we will seek solutions. Along the way I have learned for every problem there is a solution. The answer may not come today but if you keep yourself open the direction will come. I want the world to know that B.Cooking is here to stay! B.Cooking will be a household brand known for its quality in service.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The first place I would take them is to my house after traveling and we are going to talk and share for a minute! I’m a talker!! I would take them Harold’s Chicken and Ice Bar in downtown Atlanta! Gotta get the fried wings and mild sauce. Next we would go to the Mall and find us something cute to wear for our night on the town. I would find an event in town with live singing and great music. “Shawn Joyner presents Groove Lounge” is a wonderful event to attend every third Wednesday of the month. Then the following day, I would share my best friend with my friends that live here in town. We would have a gathering at my house with great food and drinks and just enjoy each other.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As the saying goes “no man is an island” As humans we need relationship and it is such a treasure when you are connected to healthy relationships in your lifetime. I have to personally thank my best friend Rita Green! I have known her for 25 plus years. She is my personal cheerleader. No matter what area I am pursuing in my life she is locked and loaded ready to help me. I must thank my amazing partner who encourages me everyday and when I feel overwhelmed reminds me that I will be okay. Lastly I must thank my amazing family the “Brooks” family. My grandmother was an entrepreneur owning her own salon, and my grandfather Jesse Brooks with only a 6th grade education played a leadership role with his company. I also want to thank my mother, Delores for instilling in me hard work and strong values. Next, I want to thank my little brother Eric for allowing me to be open and honest with you and being not just my little brother but my friend. Lastly, I want to dedicate my business B.Cooking to my older brother Charles A. Reeves who passed in 2019! Thank you for being my protector and my big brother!
