We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Brewer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Your product or service may not be for everyone. That doesn’t mean stop selling, stop producing, or stop promoting. It just means to define the market you’re selling to, produce enough with the expectation to sell more, and promote consistently to reach new prospects that need you to produce more!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a gospel recording artist, but I created a space for ALL independent artists to perform and showcase their art. My companies motto is, ‘Come to be heard, Leave with a Word!’ That simply means that even though you are coming to get new fans or listeners to your music, you WILL leave with an encouraging message from someone.

The showcases have evolved into a melting pot of people sharing their experiences and stories, but for me it’s ministry. It took 4 years for me to even start doing the showcases and when I finally started building this platform, I was in 2 terrible car accidents. This just led me to believe that this was needed in the community and people’s lives were going to be changed. The enemy was desperately trying to stop what God had already ordained.

Since, I’ve encountered sickness and financial struggles trying to keep this vision alive. But God! He has always made a way. Even through friends and family sacrificing time, money, and energy for the showcases to be a success.

My ultimate goal for the showcases and even my company, is to give independent artists a platform and a safe space to promote, network, and be encouraged to keep doing what they love and keep sharing their gift with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That honestly depends on the day or time they visit. Sundays, they would have to visit Freedom of Atlanta with me at 10:15am and Echo of God at 6:30pm. We have an amazing time praising and worshipping God!

But, during the week, we would definitely have to visit Vickery Falls in Roswell or another hiking trail with amazing views! I love stepping away from the city life and relaxing by the waterfalls.

When I am in the city, I really love visiting different restaurants and Atlanta has plenty of ‘hole in the wall’ spots that I think are hidden gems with AMAZING FOOD!

My other favorite past times would have to be skating, go karts, laser tag, and bowling, although I’m absolutely terrible at it! But I enjoy the environment, the atmosphere, and the adventure.

Now I’m just waiting on someone to go bungee jumping, zip lining, or skydiving!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The name of my company comes from my brother’s artist name. We both got into music together and when he was killed in 2013, I named the company after him.

I also would like to shoutout Bryan Andrew Wilson of Freedom of Atlanta. He encouraged me to host independent artist showcases as a means to network and grow a fanbase.
