We had the good fortune of connecting with Briahanna K Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briahanna K, why did you pursue a creative career?

I decided to pursue a creative career in the beauty industry as a licensed esthetician to become fulfilled in an industry where I have self-value, and can see the return of my excellent customer service and work ethic!

For the last 5 years I have been in a creative and artistic industry. Coming from entertainment to now the beauty industry, I crave and enjoy the freedom of thought and ideas! It’s a privilege to think freely and to let your mind wander to be creative as you would like to be. The power of being an entrepreneur in the beauty industry is even more rewarding because you realize that your great ideas are for you! You don’t have to get the approval from a superior or do things in a certain way because of 20yr old business policies that may be stunting your personal growth. You just go for it. You do it, maybe mess up along the way, adjust, and keep pushing. One of my beautiful clients said it best, “Everything you need and want, or desire, is in you or something you able to go and get!” -Brandy Nicole. It’s a never ending cycle that I will never get tired of! I love it here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career in esthetics has been truly a breath of fresh air! It’s such a beautiful way of connecting with people, healing, and educating many on the largest organ of their body-skin.

I believe my customer service and passion for people is what and also will set me apart personally and professionally! I take the approach of learning the opposite perspective and try hard to accommodate as much as possible!

I am most proud of myself. That’s it, that’s the answer lol. I surprise myself with things I have overcome that were once challenging to me. I like to be affirmed and to know I’m doing a great job, and being in this industry and just an entrepreneur alone, I have had to be okay with telling myself that often! So yea, I’m proud 🙂

I’m just getting started in my journey as an esthetician as this year will mark year 1 of being licensed! And the outpour of love and support is overwhelming. Becoming an entrepreneur in a pandemic was a bit of a doozy and played tricks on me! But I persevered and swam with the currents. A lot of adapting, second guessing, studying, training, writing, brainstorming over and over again kept me on my toes to still pursue my baby business!

Here are some things that I’ve learned along the way.

-I’ve learned to stop comparing myself to others but to compare myself to who I was the day before.
-Don’t try to figure out the way of the world, just live it!
-Give yourself grace!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

First stop is East Atlanta Village to catch a spontaneous Block Party and get an ATL staple meal which is a 10-piece lemon pepper from The Wing Bar.

Then, we are off to the Atlanta Beltline to walk it all off and maybe stop for some Margaritas in Ponce City Market.

Atlanta is full of artwork so we can definitely go on some art walks over in the Art District of Castleberry Hill or through the Krog Street Tunnel and to the artist graffiti wall.

Atlanta Station is next up on the list for food, shopping, and entertainment!

Lastly, I will stop by my favorite Thai restaurant for take out at EAV Thai and Sushi.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love giving credit where credit is due!

-My esthetic career journey started at Beaver Beauty Academy in Decatur GA where I obtained my license and training!

-During my year of training my wonderful support system which I like to call the “Besties” of YourBestieEsty are my co-workers, friends, husband, and family that would come book me out while I was in school and thereafter! These people are the foundation of my clientele and the bricks of my business. I can not say THANK YOU enough!

-Lastly, I would like to give credit to the entire esthetic industry network in general! There are some amazing professionals that served as a motivating factor via social media, meet-up, and conventions! The comradery has been heart-felt!
