We had the good fortune of connecting with Bri Thompkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bri, what’s your definition for success?
I define success as creating a life and business where peace, passion, and enjoyment come together.
For me, peace means having a sense of stability and balance—knowing my business runs smoothly and my clients feel cared for.
Passion is the heart of my nail business. I love the creativity and the ability to make people feel confident and beautiful through my work.
And enjoyment is about truly loving what I do every day—building relationships with clients, expressing artistry, and celebrating the growth of my business.
Success isn’t just about numbers or recognition; it’s about waking up excited to do what I love while maintaining harmony and peace in my life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Glam Chronicles began as a hair brand with countless faces and endless directions to explore. I dreamed of offering products, services—everything that spoke to beauty and confidence. But after finishing school and falling head over heels for the art of acrylic nails, my entrepreneurial path shifted.
My heart has always been set on creating luxury experiences for the everyday woman—making sure beauty feels attainable without breaking the bank. I genuinely adore my clients; they’re the heartbeat of what I do. Honestly, it feels like being a part-time therapist sometimes (LOL), because they are EVERYTHING to me.
The hardest part? Explaining why this industry gets the criticism it does. Truthfully, there are challenges on both sides—clients and service providers—that need a little TLC. But nothing worth having comes easy. This journey hasn’t been smooth, yet my passion for creating and thriving in the beauty world makes every hurdle worth it.
I stayed focused. I refreshed my craft. I invested in myself. And most importantly, I stayed true to who I am. One lesson I’ve learned? Never fear growth. The people who stick with you through it are meant to be there—and as you evolve, you’ll attract even more amazing clients.
Yesterday’s price won’t always be today’s price, and that’s okay. After 20 years in this industry, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly—and I’m still standing. For me, it’s never been about the money. It’s about passion, and that will never change.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
“If my best friend was visiting Atlanta and I wanted to give them the best week ever, here’s how it would go:”
Day 1 – Kickoff on the BeltLine
We’d start with a stroll or bike ride along the Atlanta BeltLine, soaking in the art installations, street murals, and vibrant energy. We’d grab casual bites from one of the food stalls along the way and maybe stop for a craft beer at a local brewery. It’s the perfect way to feel the heartbeat of the city.
Day 2 – Elevated Dining at The Garden Room
For dinner, I’d take them to The Garden Room—it’s like stepping into a whimsical floral dream. The atmosphere is stunning, and the food is just as impressive. It’s one of those places where you dress up, take pictures, and savor every bite.
Day 3 – Chic Vibes at The James Room
Next, we’d head to The James Room, a hidden gem with speakeasy vibes and creative cocktails. It’s intimate, stylish, and perfect for a night of conversation and people-watching.
Day 4 – Fun & Flavor at MCK Atlanta
We’d spend an evening at MCK Atlanta, which is all about good music, great food, and a lively crowd. It’s the spot for dancing and letting loose after a few days of exploring.
Day 5 – My Secret Third Spot: Ponce City Market
I’d take them to Ponce City Market—it’s a must. We’d shop, eat at the food hall, and then head up to the rooftop for skyline views, mini-golf, and cocktails. It’s the ultimate mix of fun and relaxation.
Day 6 – BeltLine Round Two + Local Art
We’d revisit the BeltLine, but this time hit up some galleries and pop-up shops along the way. Maybe even catch a live performance or street festival if one’s happening.
Day 7 – Chill & Reflect
For the last day, we’d keep it low-key—brunch at a cozy spot, maybe Lucian Books & Wine for something unique, and then a sunset walk before they head out.
Why these spots?
They showcase Atlanta’s personality—artsy, vibrant, and full of flavor. The people you meet along the BeltLine, the energy at MCK, and the elegance of The Garden Room make the city unforgettable.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a heartfelt shout-out to my children, Alaya and Chosen. You two are my greatest motivation—the reason I push through every obstacle and celebrate every achievement.
To my mother, Harriett, thank you for instilling in me the strength to stand on my own and the determination to go after what I want without hesitation.
To my baby sister, Janay, my sidekick and my protector—you remind me often that you’re inspired by me, but what you don’t realize is how much I admire you. Your resilience and drive to keep going, no matter what, inspire me every single day.
And to everyone who doubted me—thank you. Because at the end of the day, God has the final say, and what He has destined for me is mine.
