Meet Breonna Ousmane | Entrepreneur & Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Breonna Ousmane and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Breonna, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
As eager as I was to create a successful business, overtime I realized how important it is to have balance. Especially as a young adult you have this fear of either missing out or that you are in some type of race. In the beginning stages of my business I have dedicated majority of my time to my brand forgetting about what I like to do outside of work. This alone caused me to have burnout to the point I had no choice but to focus on my well being, now I like to take my weekends off to focus on my social/personal life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Livebreely is not your ordinary fashion and accessory brand. As a creative I am able to easily showcase my brand in ways many others are not. This skill alone has allowed me to grow my brand tremendously because of the content I put out and how it actually gave life to my products versus just seeing it on a mannequin. Starting out as a young entrepreneur at 17 was not easy. Locally no one my age was doing this and it was not yet normalized. I continued to push my products regardless of how many sales I made. As long as people were seeing my product, I did not worry. Overtime I eventually gained a following and audience that were interested in my brand. Between the time of me promoting and actually gaining that following I learned how important it was to educate yourself. Reading, taking courses, finding a mentor all was necessary steps I took to grow my business. The biggest lesson I learned was to bet on myself, I always thought I needed a celebrity, a certain amount of followers and even a certain amount of dollars to have a successful business. After so many trials and errors I was able to generate 5 figures strictly using organic marketing tactics. No paid promotion, no ad’s strictly hard work. This is something I am the most proud of when it comes to my business and it’s achievements.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For me a great time would include us eating at all the good food spots especially anywhere that serves brunch! Retail therapy is always the best type of therapy, so we would definitely hit the mall at least once or twice throughout her time here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It is important for me to not only give credits to my customers that keep my business going but my family and friends as well. I want to thank my girlfriend for understanding my journey is not easy but sticks beside me no matter what. Lastly I want to give a huge thanks to my dad for always supporting me and trusting my vision. When it feels like everything is going wrong he pushes me to stay focused on the overall goal. I am super grateful for my entire support system.
