We had the good fortune of connecting with Breunnica “Bree” Sims and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bree, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my own business from one day doing research, and I found out that big names like Walmart, Kroger, Target, Best Buy and Amazon, and many others were all started by one individual. It wasn’t rocket science. It wasn’t started by the government, or created by a group of people the government appoints to build businesses based on the needs of that city. One person loved something, had an idea, and used that idea to start a business. Once that business started generating money, they grew & scaled the business. When I found out that even large corporations often start off as ONE individual, I said to myself “If they can do it, so can I”.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love Real Estate. I don’t just love buying and selling homes either. I love buying, selling, leasing, managing, fixing them up and tearing them down. Even though I mastered residential and commercial real estate, my heart behind doing my job is what sets me apart. I authentically care about my clients, and them achieving their goals. I am most proud that majority of my clients have been people that I know personally, including my best friends, parents of my friends, and close family. I got to where I am today by finding God, reading the Bible, and staying focused. It definitely was not easy. I enrolled in real estate school at the age of 22 at a time where I was working full time, living on my own, and also operating multiple Airbnb’s. I had to choose between securing my job and taking off 3 days per week for Real Estate school. I chose school even though my job threatened to replace me if I took off that much time off. When I finished school, my job promoted me to Manager. The biggest lesson that I’ve learned: Take the risk. If it’s meant to be, there will be a way. I want the world to know that I am fearless, I live life to not have any regrets, and that I always walk by faith.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m one of the few that are actually from Atlanta. There are lots of GREAT spots & things to do vey local. Day one: I’d cook lamb chops, Mac and cheese, and broccoli. The first day would be getting acquainted with everyone and resting up from travel. We’d definitely go sightseeing downtown Atlanta, and look at all the night lights while riding scooters. At the end of the first night, we’d get frozen yogurt and rest up.

Day 2-5: We’d go to Six Flags one day. Lake Winnie the next. Then, we’d head down to the wild country safari, last, we’d do Andretti.

Day 6: We’d do a full day of All Nightlife. Start off at brunch, then head to a day party, and then the final destination before going to an after hour spot.

Day 7: Brunch, and then you’re off to the airport…

I love all kinds of fun. The most fun thing to do to me is something adventurous.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My son Preston deserves recognition. I became a mother in college, right in between me becoming a true adult and finding myself. Before becoming a mother, I had no clear direction on where I wanted my life to go. I did not know what I truly wanted to study in school. I did not know what career path I wanted to take. I did know that it was now my responsibility to provide the guidance and knowledge Preston needs to survive, and that I wanted him to be an exceptional student in school. Since kids learn most by seeing what their parents do and not just by being told what to do, I understood that the only way to truly achieve this, was by setting the example. When my son began elementary school at 4, that’s when I noticed he started to take note and show huge interest in my career. He started telling his teachers how mommy had a “Closing” today. They would often tell me that he brags and boasts about his mother, and is very proud of me. He’d tell me “Make sure when you come to my class, you wear your suit”. Knowing that he actually copies everything I do is why I shoot for the moon.
