We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Thornton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breanna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve been an athlete all my life, so starting my own business in the fitness and training space felt like a natural evolution. From a young age, I was surrounded by athletics—whether it was running track in college, playing volleyball, or basketball growing up. These experiences not only shaped my love for sports but also sparked my curiosity about how the human body works and how training can transform it.

What truly inspired me was seeing how training changed people—not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally. I started noticing how someone’s confidence skyrockets as they grow stronger, more agile, and healthier. I’ve watched people walk into a room with a new glow, standing taller, feeling better in their own skin—and that was powerful to me.

Early in my career, I witnessed these incredible transformations, and it fueled my passion to dive deeper into understanding the science behind it. I wanted to learn everything I could about how to not only create these physical changes but also instill the same kind of mental toughness and emotional resilience that sports gave me.

Starting my own business allowed me to do just that. I realized I had the power to help people transform their entire lives through fitness—whether it’s athletes trying to advance their skills or business owners learning how to balance their health with a demanding lifestyle. Ultimately, my long-term goal has always been to open a multi-sport complex where athletes of all levels can come together, refine their skills, and grow. This business is just the beginning of that journey.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My journey with Breezy Fit Co. has definitely not been easy. I’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices—late nights, early mornings, and even unpaid positions just to get my foot in the door and gain the experience and education I needed to grow. There’s been time wasted, money wasted, and a lot of trial and error along the way. But every setback has been a lesson that’s shaped me into who I am today.

One of the biggest challenges has been the mental battles. Developing the mental toughness and going through personal breakthroughs has allowed me to push through the tough times and, in turn, be able to guide others through theirs. These experiences have given me a unique edge in helping my clients not only with their fitness goals but also with their mindset.

At Breezy Fit Co., we don’t just focus on the physical transformation; we work on building mental resilience, so you’re ready for anything life throws your way. I know what it takes to push through those tough moments because I’ve been there. I even struggle sometimes to this day but its all developing me into the person and coach I need to be. That’s what drives me to help others do the same and I want the world to know that Breezy Fit Co. is more than just a fitness brand. It’s about building mental toughness, confidence, and finding that balance between personal goals and daily life.

My story is one of grit, determination, and a passion for helping others achieve their own breakthroughs. My goal is to create a community where everyone feels empowered to become the best version of themselves, inside and out.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am more of a homebody and dont explore the city as much as I would like to but if my best friend came to visit, we’d definitely hit up some of Atlanta’s best spots like South City Kitchen and I personally enjoy Rreal taco.

I would definitely take them to the beltline. There are usually outdoor festivals happening there that would be very enjoyable. Ponce city market rooftop is also a very fun and relaxing place I think my best friends would enjoy doing. I havent been to the georgia aquarium since I was very young but that is something that I personally would enjoy doing that I think they would enjoy as well.
.
Maybe even a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden to enjoy nature. And of course, we’d have a chill night in with a good cocktail or two!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give all the credit to my mother—she’s been my rock from day one. Her work ethic is unmatched, and she’s the kind of person who never makes excuses, no matter how tough things get. She’s always been there for the people she loves, and she’s never backed down from a challenge. Watching her pour everything into making sure my siblings and I never had to worry has been my greatest inspiration. Everything I do today is to make sure she never has to lift a finger again.
