We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breanna, how does your business help the community?
I started Inn3r Image Consulting to ultimately help others to feel like their best selves. I was inspired by the clients I counsel in therapy who were experiencing major life transitions, whether they were on a weight loss journey, going through a divorce, or changing career paths. I was motivated by the light I saw in their eyes when they were embarking on a new journey often accompanied by the desire to make an outward change.

My goal has always been to first and foremost support and empower black women to show up authentically and walk boldly in their truth. Too often we use our outer appearance to either mask deeper issues or our internal blockages stifle our outward expression. I wanted to develop a process to move beyond that and encourage expression that aligns with the individual in a way that they would not have ordinarily had the courage to do so.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Inn3r Image is a personal development service that focuses on inner and outer identity transformation for those in major life transitions. The program is 5 easy steps that are designed to help individuals navigate a new normal with elevated confidence and a sense of personal style. Typically image consultants work to enhance one’s image by improving interpersonal communication skills and executive presence. My service provides workshops to help you navigate your personal or emotional stuck points, identify and highlight your strengths, qualities, and characteristics, and gain confidence in expressing them through your wardrobe choices. I am most proud that my clients are able to cultivate a sense of alignment, wholeness and confidence to support their goals after our work together. My work began in this field first as a communications advertising major and fashion enthusiast who has styled individuals in the past and secondly as a licensed mental health therapist. Listening to my clients in therapy helped me to identify the need for this service. I then developed a process model and beta-tested my services with those who stated they would benefit from the program, garnered their feedback and adjusted accordingly. The Inn3r Image experience is designed to help individuals transform their life from the inside out, recalibrate post a major life transition, identify their personal style and improve their self-confidence. I believe personal style is an outward expression of an internal disposition and my goal is to help you cultivate personal alignment.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Fortunately, we live in a city that provides the best balance of naturistic escapes, in-town metropolitan vibes and top-tier food experiences. I would begin with Atlanta’s favorite pastime brunch! I would take them to either Twisted Soul’s Cookhouse and Pours for their Hoisin Glazed Oxtails, By George for jazz and mimosas, Le Bon Nosh for their chic French ambiance or Le Petit Marche for their cozy vibes and amazing food. We would venture to the beltline to enjoy the sun and cardio and grab a honey lavender Latte from Just Add Honey, have a picnic in Piedmont Park, or take a hike at Red Top Mountain. We would go see a comedy performance at ASW Distillery, check out new exhibitions at the High Museum, go wine tasting at the Vino Teca and grab dinners at The Optimist, Bacchanalia, Yebo Haus or Le Colonial. We would have a spa day at Woodhouse, get mani pedi’s at Sugarcoat and maybe even catch Sofar Sounds or Smith’s Olde bar for live music.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to my clients who I am eternally grateful to do the work we get to do together. I am honored to share in and impact such a vulnerable and pivotal point in someone’s life. Sometimes you are the only person they have shared a particular experience with or the first time they have ever said it out loud and that is an invaluable moment that I don’t take lightly.

Secondly, I want to shout out my husband who helped me identify that I even wanted to do Image Consulting in the first place. He also helps me create sound operations with his knowledge of business consulting, often coming home late from class to inform and advise next steps in my process. He was the person that believed in and supported my goal to quit my job, return to school and embark on this path.

Lastly, I want to shoutout my homegirl Brittany who was the first person I told about my idea (outside of my husband) and my first customer. She has been a Godsend of a friend by allowing me to brainstorm my ideas, test my services, shoot my content and send referrals.

Inn3r Image would not be what it is without God and their support which I am truly grateful for!
