We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breanna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I am a huge fashionista: shopping, wear jewelry, and matching my outfits fits me and my personality. I absolutely love wearing earrings that come in different shapes, sizes, and colors, and I especially love wearing tassel earrings. During the pandemic in 2021, my goal was to find a new hobby and I thought about making tassel earrings. After making a few pairs, I thought to myself, “why buy them in stores when I can make them my own?” and that’s when I thought about starting my own earring business. I came up with the name Bloom Boutique Handmade Jewelry because to bloom means to flourish. I want for women to feel confident and “bloom” when wearing my product. These earrings provide an extra boost to outfits and I want for women to stand out and flourish when wearing them. After coming up with the business name, I worked on my logo, marketing materials, creating my social media pages, and started my hustle of simply marketing myself by wearing my product everywhere – from work, to church, to shopping in stores. When I started to receive compliments from people, I knew I was off to a great start. I introduced the world to Bloom Boutique H.J. on November 6, 2022, which is also my birthday. Bloom Boutique is truly my little blessing!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Besides being a business owner, I work in the communications and marketing field. I enjoy helping my clients by providing the best strategies that focuses on branding and visibility through social media, copywriting, etc. I like to think of creative strategies for my clients and use them for my business as well. It was definitely a challenge for me to get where I am today. In order to do better and progress, I had to put in the work by doing research and using my resources (completing online certifications). I’m proud of seeing the positive results of my work and knowing that I took my time to ensure that my creative strategy worked best. I want the world to know that I enjoy helping people and putting smiles on their faces!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to the High Museum of Art. If it falls on a High Frequency Friday, that will be a go to! The Dekalb Farmers Market is great for fresh food, so we can go there to get our ingredients to cook at home. Sports game are always fun, so either a Falcons or a Hawks game for sure. I have a sweet tooth so stopping by Revolution Doughnuts in Decatur to grab a doughnut with their amazing Lavender Lemonade (my favorite) would be perfect.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I want to thank God for making all of this happen. Without him and his guidance, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I also want to thank my entire support system of family and friends and to my “Bloom Street Team”. These individuals encourage me, support me by wearing my earrings and promoting my business on every social media platform or even word of mouth. I’m forever thankful for their words of wisdom and always pushing me to be the best that I can be. Last but certainly not least, I want to shoutout my late mother for supporting me and always telling me to follow my dreams!
