We had the good fortune of connecting with Brayhia Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brayhia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel risks are a necessity for growth in life. If you don’t take risks, you may never know your true potential and the magic you are capable of. I have taken multiple risks in my life. From moving from my hometown to another state not knowing anyone to quitting my corporate job, all for the sake of pursuing my passion of acting. Making those moves has brought me so much peace and happiness. I have met and worked with such great people that have truly impacted me as an actor. I wouldn’t have done any of that without taking risks. I’d rather take a risk then sit and contemplate what could of been.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an actress and writer. I have had a passion for acting since I was a young girl. I find joy in the process and journey in bringing to life a character. It’s fun!

Me being unapologetically myself is what sets me apart from everyone else. There is no one else in the world that is Brayhia or has the gifts and abilities I do. So that alone sets me apart from everyone else.

I just completed my first short film where I am the lead character so right now I am most proud of and excited for that. It was an amazing project with a great message. I can’t wait for the world to see it.

I got where I’m at today, with a lot of perseverance, consistency and hard work. I was very ignorant starting off, just thinking that my natural talent would be able to carry me into the industry alone. You have to develop your craft and continue to learn if you want to be at the top. In learning that, I am always looking to improve and get better. As André De Shields Cardinal rule 3 states “The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next, so keep climbing”.

It was not easy. It was more mentally challenging then anything else. With the help of God and my support system, I was able to push through and fight those negative thoughts that would cross my mind. The doubts that would try to invade my mind when I didn’t land a role or when nothing seems to workout. I had faith I was on the right track I just had to keep moving forward! Take the failures as lessons to learn from that will help me continue to grow and ultimately lead me to where I am going.

I want the world to know Brayhia Marshall has arrived! I want to inspire people to pursue their passions. Life should be peaceful and happy and if you’re not currently doing something you love, please be encouraged to go for it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh gosh I rarely get out the house. But I am a more outdoors type of person, so I like to hike. Especially on trails that have waterfalls! Some of the best places I have gone to are Amicalola Falls State Park, Ruby Falls and Rock City Gardens! I was born and raised in the desert, so I love greenery and these places have some beautiful views.

I love a good sports bar so, I would go to the Hudson Grille! They have good food and drinks plus if your a sports fan like myself, they have a great atmosphere for catching the games on the TV.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh gosh this list is long. I want to dedicate this shoutout to my family and friends! I want to thank my Dad, Mom, Grandma and brothers for always loving me unapologetically and supporting and encouraging me to pursue my dreams. I want to thank my besties, Kendra, Diamond, Destane and Nekila for always pushing me to be better, encouraging me to grow and keeping me grounded. I also want to thank the Queen’s Den for helping me with my spiritual growth and for always being so uplifting.
