We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon K. Momon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon K., what do you want people to remember about you?
My legacy is that I am undeniably and confidently with myself. I am very confident in who I am what I do which carry’s over into my professional lifestyle as Fashion Wardrobe Stylist. I am a firm believer that my clientele picks up on that and is ultimately why they choose me in such an competitive industry. My clients believe in my confidence which allows me to push them outside of their comfort zone and really create art with my styles. I want people to remember me as being humble but also confident, knowing my worth and what I am capable of is what drives me to keep going. As my motto states “Your Appearance Means Everything” and I am a firm believer of that. My favorite quote is my Harry Winston “People will stare. make it worth their while.”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. specializing in Business Meetings, the Governor’s Ball, Weddings, Red Carpet Dressings, Photo Shoots and everyday styling needs. For over a decade I have been committed to to my passion for fashion. Starting my career in high-end retail by styling clients at Bloomingdales and Nordstroms, I was quickly raised to the Lead Stylist over seeing all designer departments. After many successful years in the Retail Industry I decided to start my own business, StyleMeBrandon. Since starting my business I have dressed for B.E.T Red Carpet,  The Stellar Awards and Windy City Live just to name a few. I have worked closely with Politicians, Pastors, music artists, reality TV stars and many more. My goal is to create fashion sense based on the personality and lifestyle of my client with a touch of my unique eye for detail and fresh approach to fashion. I am dedicated to developing lasting professional relationships with clients while challenging them to be their true self.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in The Windy City there is a ton to do which is what I love about it. When my friends are in town we do a mix of all types of things but one thing that’s for certain is we will TURN UP. My two favorite things are food and fashion. With me being a stylist of course all my friends want to go shopping, so typically we will go shopping on my time for free. Some of my favorite areas to shop at would have to be the Magnificent Mile and Oak Street. Those two areas are where you can find all your luxury shops. I enjoy being able to see the new trends and styles that are out and how storefronts pull it all together. And what better time to splurge than when your friends are in town?! When it comes to food Chicago has ever restaurant you can think of. Some of my favorite places would probably have to be LuxBar, Italian Village, and of course for pizza Lou Malnati’s. A day for me and a friend would consist of brunch in the Gold Coast followed by shopping on the Magnificent Mile. After shopping it’s crucial to hit up happy hour. After happy hour we stop back at home freshen up, change into our evening attire and head to dinner on the Chicago River. From there the night is young! Whether we head to Boystown for karaoke or River North for the night club scene..we are ready for a good time, good music, and good drinks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course there is 2 beautiful black queens that I would like to dedicate my shoutout to because they both deserve recognition. First I will start with my Mother April K. Momon, this lady is the reason I choose fashion as a career. Growing up in a single mother house as an only child I was my mother personal model.. LOL no like seriously. As I have been told and what I have saw I was always DRESSED; from hair, clothes, shoes my mother didn’t play when it came to appearance. I would be the only kid in class dressed like it was picture day everyday. My mother taught me as a child how to match pieces together with colors and patterns. As I got older my mother allowed me to give my option on her hair and outfits for the day which made her my model. My mother always planted in me that we never go outside looking like anything. If we going to give the people something to talk about, let it be good talk. My mother has always been a glam girl, still to this day I have never saw my mother not in heels. Secondly I can’t forget my grandma Beverly Wilson, she’s the woman who taught me that men get there nails and feet done and somebody to look and smell good at all time. I would visit my grandma house every weekend. Our agenda was get pampered and looking amazing to sit in the house to eat and watch TV. Both of these queens plays a big role in my career because it started at home which has gave me the confidence to style Plus Size woman and just woman in general and be successful.
