We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Hudson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I always grew up with a passion for creating and selling my own products. The only time I’d ever be exited for school is when it was a creative project where I was able to bring an idea of my own to life. When it came to trying to make a career out of my passion as an adult I knew that I wanted to start a company that makes innovative futuristic products in a lot of different industries. But I had limited resources to begin with and I knew that I had to start with an initial product company that wouldn’t be too costly to create initial prototypes. It also had to be a product that I personally love and that I could fall in love with the process of creating. When I looked at the hookah industry, I noticed that even though hookahs were really popular in lounges, bars, clubs and smoke shops both locally and internationally, that there isn’t necessarily a bunch of hookah BRANDS that are known by the masses. That’s when I knew I wanted to create that brand. But I didn’t want to just create a logo and slap it onto an ordinary hookah. I wanted to completely invent and design a new type of hookah from scratch that addressed the complaints that users would have about traditional hookahs and also provide a cleaner healthier experience. I also saw that there were no hookahs in the cannabis industry so I wanted to make sure that I incorporated that in my new hookah design as well. From that EXOH hookahs and EXOH products LLC was born. Though right now the focus is hookah cannabis products and accessories, I plan to expand way beyond that in the future under EXOH products creating more innovative products and tools that I think are really going to surprise and excite people.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Aside from creating products, I’ve also always had a passion for creating and writing music. I’ve been able to create my own unique sound that puts smooth raps and melodies over heavily strings and soulful basslines. I’m most excited about my most recent ep that just dropped titled: The Feelin (by B. Huddy) – which is out now on all streaming platforms. In this 3 song project I’m really starting to define my sound and deliver the type music I’ve always dreamed of creating. It’s been challenging to get to this point but I know that I’m just getting started and if keep making music that I’m passionate about and staying consistent that I’ll succeed in all my goals both in music and in business. And I’m prepared to be in this forever!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the things I love most about Atlanta is all of the dope events that seem to always be going on. It’s like on any day of the week if you can find something fun to get into if you’re looking for it. When I’m not in the studio making music or in my design lab making products, I love going up to Braves games and just hanging out in the battery area and I love hitting stand up shows at The Punchline and other comedy clubs around the city. I also occasionally like hitting up a lounge or having a meeting at one of the many dope dinner spots around the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shout out to my Mom & Dad. They both always fostered an environment for me to be myself. Not only did they always allow me to dream big but they also encouraged it. They were exactly who I needed as a kid and still play the same roll for me now. I’m truly proud to have them as parents.
