We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Hollingsworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Although Camp CORE has activities for both kids and adults, it was originally created to enhance adult activity. As I got older, I noticed that an adults “fun” is moreso drinking, clubbing, smoking, social events, etc. There are plenty adults that feel like they are too “grown” to play, but I think the exact opposite. I think the older that we get, we need fun activity, we need to be able to play. Not only is recreational activity healthy as far as the physical fitness aspect, but it helps tremendously on the mental side of things as well. We work, we pay bills, we stress, etc, everyday. I just want to give people new and exciting activities that brings positive thought and happiness to themselves. My slogan is “engage your play,” because I want people to realize that fun and play is just as important and needed as serious matters.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I decided to attend school for recreation, I was just working a basic job to pay the bills. I didn’t look too hard into any career under another persons company, because of my aspirations to run my own. Since I’ve been on my entrepreneur journey, I’ve held a steady job down as a truck driver, but never stopped plans for my own success. The birth of my daughter in 2015 was even more push to want to make it and raise her with no financial hardship. All and all I would love for my company to have major success and eventually hand everything off to her in the future. My company is built on the strength of wanting people to have a good time and leave them with fun and positive memories, so that’s what I want people to relate Camp CORE to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I’m big on recreation, so I would definitely want to do some fun things. We would go indoor rock climbing at Stone Summit. There are actually a few VR arcades that I haven’t been to around the city that I want to try out. I don’t drink, but as far as restaurants, we would hit up Logans. Of course after that there are plenty Atlanta based things, and with me not having that many favorites, It would just be whatever they have in mind.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife would be the first person I would like to recognize. She is my biggest critic if something doesn’t sit right and the other side of my brain when coming up with details into my ideas. Next would be my family. We have a close family network, so if help is ever needed with an event or activity, I can count on them to be there.
