We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My authenticity, unapologetic level of honesty in everything I do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Honesty about what really brings me joy which would be performing period. It started ay age 7 with professional dance training, then being paid to dance by age 15, then becoming a paid contracted company member with the prestigious Alvin Ailey 2 co. Touring the world for several years! To continue with several other major modern dance companies equivalent to Alvin Ailey also touring as a principal dancer with those reputable regional dance companies. Later to break into teaching my own modern dance classes all over New York City. Then musical theatre broadway style performances became an obsession that led me back to Acting & Singing as a adult through several private classes. Finding my own artistic voice was very difficult because I only wanted to unapologetically be me. Everyone else is already who they are. I needed to make a significant signature name for myself. It was all of the experiences I just listed that I have had & continuously have to this day on some level or another. Required me not giving up on me the one & only true Brandon Ellis. Often because of my vitiligo or multiracial culture it seemed hard for to be cast for certain projects. I had to prove that I could play black or white, gay or heterosexual and I most certainly have. So you must never give up on yourself but instead find reasons to keep pushing through all of your challenges & keep your faith. I survived the industry through God’s grace & mercy I’m forever grateful & humbled by my own journey..You see me today in the popular comedy/soap opera you can see me in the movie “SISTERS AND THE SHRINK ” parts 2-5 starring Trina Braxton & Towanda Braxton streaming on Tubi, Amazon, Roku & Hazelvisions..com.
