We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Swift and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandi, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want to break generational curses so my children will never have to go through what I went through. Everything I do is for my children’s future. I want people to remember that no matter how hard it got, I never gave up, never quit and that I was blessed back with everything I lost plus more.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My brand is Single Handed Together , it’s a non profit that was started for single parents and now has been extended to all parents from every spectrum of life. It takes a village to raise a child and nation to support a parent. I started this brand because while I was a single parent I didn’t have a great support system so I became for others who I needed for myself. It was not easy and I faced a few challenges along the way. What set me apart from others is that I genuinely care and i’ll never looked down on a person for what they are going through because i’ve been there and i’ll never forget where I came from. My goal is to make an impact in everyone’s life I come across.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take a trip to Savannah Georgia. Wet Willies for the drinks almost definitely and pretty much anywhere for the food. Head to Tybee beach for a beach day, stop at Rita’s Italian Ice on the way for a gelati. We can hit the outlets for some shopping. I could spend forever there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost God and then my boyfriend. I say my boyfriend because when we first met he encouraged me to start my business. He asked me my goals and plans to get started. After I started he set up a direct deposit to my business account to get me started. He was at every event I did and helped with whatever he could. We were just friends and without him I wouldn’t be where I am in my business.
