We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandi, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I grew up in Detroit, Michigan and was born into a very affluent and conservative family. I am a 6th generation entrepreneur and come from a long line of successful merchants and service providers. I had wonderful parents that literally did any and everything for me to have the best experiences from ballet to golf lessons. My Mom was a well known and loved Detroit public school teacher and philanthropist. My Father was a professional athlete and decorated retired military member. My whole family was extremely involved in all my activities and interests. They all made sure to instill a great foundation for my success by encouraging me to be completely committed to excellence and to always do my very best no matter what. They are my greatest cheerleaders, advocates and lobbyist.

I literally learned by example from my parents who strongly believed in using words to express emotion, desire and gratitude. I am utterly grateful for the values that they unknowingly and lovingly passed on to me. I would not be who I am today without them.

From a very young age I had an awareness of how important money is and desired to know exactly how it worked. My great uncle collected gold bars and explained to me in detail how money works and fluctuates. My maternal Grandfather explained to me about the importance of its utility. My parents and grandparents instilled the importance of self care, appearance, hygiene and consistent maintenance. This helped me understand exactly how to care for my mind, body and soul and how each is different. More importantly I was fortunate to be able to travel and have wonderful experiences my whole life and to have the audacity to believe it was a normal occurrence.

My impeccable life experiences taught me that Intention is the foundation for every action and reaction. Therefore we can not provide what we do not understand and have not experienced.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner and founder of CouturEye Lash Studio and The Lash Express. CouturEye was established in August 2015 and is an appointment based luxury lash studio located in Norcross, Georgia. We primarily provide eyelash extension and eyebrow maintenance services. Our clientele varies from women in the medical profession to C-Suite Executives. We pride ourselves on providing consistent high quality, time efficient services, I love helping women feel great about themselves while helping make their life easier and more enhanced. I am so honored that so many women trust me with the health and appearance of their eyelashes.

The Lash Express was established in 2017 to provide beginner and veteran beauty professionals everywhere with great eyelash extension products, education and accessories. TLE is designed to help women wanting to start their own beauty business while removing some of the barriers to entry. We provide in person and online eyelash extension, eyebrow maintenance, permanent makeup, teeth whitening and small business courses. We have developed a super awesome line of amazing long lasting lash adhesive and complimentary lash extension products.

I grew the business very organically but, with the intention that it would be an international multimillion dollar business. I am a small business expert so I applied everything I knew in my previous professional corporate work experience to starting my business even though initially it was just supposed to be a hobby. I grew the business to 6 figures in 4 months and 100 clients. I would say building the business was easy because I had a clear vision of what I wanted to produce.

But it did take commitment, discipline and full faith.

I believe what sets us apart from others is that we don’t even know who they are. We focus on our goals, visions and outcomes for our clients. Our commitment is to get better and better for the greater good of every person we touch.

The biggest lesson I learned is to continue learning and to give yourself and the business time and space to get better and grow. The more human I have had to become over the last 8 years the more successful my business has become. When I am stressed or overwhelmed with content creation, marketing or tasks… I actually take time to relax, meditate and reset. While it is for profit business I just take a step back and remember that when it was just a hobby I created without effort. SO I STOP, AND ALLOW the next thing to just appear on its own. It’s never failed me.

My former fitness coach and forever friend Adrienne McGhee for helping me see a part of myself I never thought I would.

I want to provide a very special thanks to Bob Proctor, Joel Olsteen and Earl Nightingale who helped me see my true potential.

The Oprah Book it Program that encouraged me to continue to love reading. Reading Rainbow which help me learn who, when, where, why and how.

The books that changed my adult life is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Waddles. (I have read both 50+ times) 4 Agreements by Don Miquel Ruiz (I do my best to live it)

I wrote in a notebook the night before the events before they occurred after listening to Joel Osteen and my dream actually came true in exact form. That’s how I knew how to do it.

I want to thank my Step Father Frederick B. Wilson Sr. who taught me to love myself first, spent endless hours teaching me complex chess strategies and theories. to be prepared for preparation meetings, to never take No for an answer and the importance of the question how and never why.

I want to thank my late Father Jonathan Alexander who taught me the difference between beliefs, facts and truth, You showed me life is birthless, deathless and boundless and to always sit with myself because power lies in stillness not production.

I want to give a special thank you to my late Mother Vida Dee Bowers-Wilson for all the times she never gave up no matter how impossible it seemed, she never folded, she never cursed, she always loved, laughed. prayed and did it again,
