We had the good fortune of connecting with Branch Harper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Branch, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from a small town in northwest, Georgia called Summerville. One of those towns where everyone knows each other, the population is around 5,000 people. Life in a town like that doesn’t offer a wealth of opportunities, so you have to look beyond its borders to find success.
My mom worked in manufacturing to ensure we had health insurance, while my dad, a carpenter, often worked from daylight to dark, 60 to 80 hours a week to provide for us.
Watching my parents work so hard and still deal with financial challenges, was very eye-opening. Their perseverance instilled in me a strong work ethic which to this day has been crucial in overcoming my own obstacles along the way.
While everyone has a different path the one that I have taken to entrepreneurship has been driven by these experiences. The determination to create a better life for myself and my future family has gotten me where I am today
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own and operate Elevate Spine and Wellness, where I strive to offer a distinctive chiropractic experience. My focus is on treating/resolving acute/chronic musculoskeletal injuries and sending my patients home in better shape than when they arrived.
When it comes to what sets me apart, I think it’s a couple things.
Being able to connect with patients while genuinely addressing their specific concerns really goes a long way when done with empathy and understanding, A lot of people simply need to be heard. I believe that dealing with significant pain and frustration can be challenging enough, and my goal is to make the recovery process as smooth as possible.
In terms of treatment in addition to your standard chiropractic adjustments, I utilize a range of complementary treatments, including soft tissue therapies such as cupping, Graston technique (soft tissue mobilization) and various decompression methods. Combining these approaches often leads to faster resolution of symptoms and a more comprehensive outcome for my patients.
I am most proud of sticking to the plan and staying committed It has been quite the journey getting here and not always an easy one
In particular the last year for me has been the most challenging that I have faced both personally and in business.
In November 2023 my (now) wife and I lost everything we own on in a fire that was started by someone else on the roof of the property where we lived. All of this occurs as I am actively planning/opening a new chiropractic office.
Fast forward 8 months to June 2024 the new office has now been open for 6 months and things are going great. The last weekend in June I wake up to a call that an electrical fire has broken out at my office. Due to fire/water/smoke damage the office itself was essentially a total loss and I had to plan to relocate.
You’d like to believe that you’d never be overwhelmed with more than you can handle, but from experience, I can tell you that sometimes you will be pushed to your limits.
Ultimately, I’m thankful for the opportunity to do what I love and to be able to aide people in feeling and functioning better, especially when they’re going through challenging times.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has a lot to offer for a long weekend depending on what you’re into.
I think the Battery for a Braves game is a great time, you can eat, drink and play all in the same general area, (Sports and Social, Antico, Superica)
Check out the Beltline it must be on the list you can hop between brewery’s (New Realm, Monday Night) and then catch a good meal along the way I really like Del Bar, Barcelona, Glide Pizza. It’s a great place to really catch the vibe of the city.
One night visit West Midtown, have EIGHT sushi for dinner and then make your way to Palo Santo and catch a DJ on the rooftop.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It would be really hard to name just one person. Throughout my life there have been many people that have pushed and rooted for me all along the way.
First I would say my family and close friends that pushed me to escape the small town bubble and seek out something greater for myself. I will forever be thankful for that.
My wife Felecia has always supported and encouraged me to keep pushing and growing. Considering the catastrophes we have dealt with in the last year she has managed to keep us both on track and moving forward.
