Meet Bonzz Vito | Creative Director, Film Photographer & Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bonzz Vito and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bonzz, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always knew that I was not meant to work for no one. Born a leader naturally and I always knew I wanted to own something I couldn’t call it at a early age but I know I belonged with the movie stars. Ownership is everything in the black community and my family is from the projects they have never owned property or a business. It just happens I was the chosen one to have the strength and provide that push to set the tone.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My style is created from film fashion music and life experiences. The goal is to set myself apart from others by creating ideas that can’t be duplicated but respected and appreciated artistically. I’m most proud of curating my first galley. Kumo Shai dropped a beautiful photography book “All The Talent Is In The Hood” of his most precious work and we curated a gallery with exquisite frames and the flyest of the flyest popped out from Uptown to show love it was amazing. Please be on the look for more gallery events.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The best place in NYC is HARLEM BABY. First off we going to El futuro on the east-side 2nd Ave. The best breakfast sandwiches on this planet cop you a chop cheese or bacon egg and cheese whatever your preference is. We going to hit up dispensaries and we have a members only 420 cafe on pleasant Ave. Now for the vibes we going to Santiago’s Beer Garden to get the best Dominican food and drinks on 1st Ave.
Last but not least take a ride down 125th street and enter what I like to call Africa. We going shopping on 125th street & sight seeing the Apollo as the sunsets.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give major praise and gratitude to my brother my mentor my Sensei Kumo Shai. I asked him about 6 times before I got the yes to be his assistant. The first time working together he took me to a Tiana Parker shoot. It changed my life and perception of models and the art in creating. He has pushed me to the test to become the great artist I am today. I love you brother.
