Meet Bob Cronin | comedy creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bob Cronin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bob, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Every creative endeavor is a risk. You’ll fail. You’ll be judged harshly. The work won’t live up to y0ur own expectations. Frankly- all these things are likely to happen. But without failing, you will never succeed. I push those thoughts to the side and focus on the work, I draw energy from why I do it, and what I want to achieve from it. The people who will experience it, and will get it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m working in the YouTube space now, telling dad jokes to artists in a puppet form. Which is a whole new world after making a name as a mashup artist (dj BC), producing records and live music events for some years. It’s a whole different way of producing content and getting it to people, involving puppetry, visual art, set building, and animation, in addition to promoting and communicating with people. I’m bringing a lot of bands and musicians on the show, so I’m drawing deeply on previous relationships and connections to make my show have a unique and cool flavor.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First Fridays at the High Museum are key for creatives to network. Catch comedy at Dad’s Garage. Suit up as a hero or villain and step in the Dragon Con parade, at least once. The Center for Puppetry Arts is a critical stop to see the most important icons of puppetry, right here in ATL! Wax N’ Facts and Criminal Records and Wuxtry and Fantasyland and Waterloo Sunset for your vinyl needs- support the local shops. Christmas Carol at the Alliance annually and see the Atlanta Symphony play at least once a year (see them play along with a movie if thats your bag!) And while you do all this look for tiny doors by Tiny Doors ATL.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to musicians and producers Ricky Zero and Bambi Lynn from the band Radio Cult, and producers of the We Had That youtube channel. Networking is critical and these guys became friends as well as creative collaborators. We support each others project and constantly collaborate, which has been a real pleasure and key to my creative growth in Atlanta.
