We had the good fortune of connecting with Blak Pantha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blak, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
First, let me state that my business primary function is Afrikology. Afrikology Aka Africana studies, black studies, and AfrIkan American studies is a multidisciplinary study of the histories, politics, and cultures of people of AfrIkan origin both in Afrika in the diaspora. The course is designed to introduce an Afrocentricity perspective in clouding phenomena and culture. This course grew out of academia and rebellions of students looking for a scholarship change in universities.

The study of the Afrikan phenomenon from an unbias objective view enhances self-esteem amongst youth, builds character amongst all, and provides the foundation for Afrikan sovereignty that we desperately need. The publications, videos, articles, lectures, classes, social media posts, etc are all geared towards that. If we can have the desired effect in our community then just like the ant builds its nest we can effectively change the world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from most scholars, researchers, and authors is my methodology. You have a lot of people sharing information but don’t have the academic rigor in their bag to produce factual information in context. Unfortunately in the black community, we have a lot of snake oil salesmen that have fed us rumors, speculation, lies, and lazy scholarship. There was a gap in processing information from the times of Dr. Ben, John Henrick Clarke, Chancellor Williams, and John G. Jackson. Some of the teachers that followed failed to meet the standard but succeeded in being more popular. So now we are in the situation where we have been programmed by our own with useless information that cannot transform our communities. So When you ask me what sets me apart from others it’s simply my methodology but within those details is the incredible drive to tell the story of Afrika in its proper context and empower brothers and sisters with information to improve and revolutionize their lives.

I’m most proud of the two volumes of my Pan Afrikan Journal entitled Kilmongers Corner. You can find these available on Amazon or contact me directly. I’m most excited about my upcoming book Afrikan Spirituality for the Afrikan Diaspora.

I got here today by having outstanding mentors and trial and error. Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel domestically and internationally to research, record, and disseminate information. I’ve rubbed elbows with the best and worst of the black community. Went through trials by fire with individuals others were afraid of. Never be afraid to learn and be a student while simultaneously being a teacher. Of course, this wasn’t easy because if it were we would be in a better position as Afrikans globally and I would be the norm. Unfortunately, Challenges came in abundance from my own people and others. I am grateful for the challenges because they hardened my skin and sharpened my mind. I give thanks to all the people that tried to defame my character and discredit me, it only made me go harder. I learned that one can be totally competent and even extraordinary in one area and totally ignorant in another. That may seem simple reading it but people will mask their ignorance because of ego and attempt to convince you they know what they are talking about when the reverse is obvious. Never assume someone is on your level or higher. Make them prove it. Regardless of rank, name, title, or popularity. I want the world to know that there is not a more consistent, persistent, sharper Afrikan-centered scholarship team in the world than the Mossi Warrior Clan. We will continue to fight for our people and build international relations for the benefit of Afrikans globally.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Healthful Essense Caribbean Vegan cuisine is my favorite spot. I’m not even Vegan but I love the food here. For knowledge, I would go to the Black Dot Book Store in Lithonia GA. Great people and book over there.
The Omenala Griot Afrocentric museum is also a great spot
The Medu bookstore in Greenbriar mall is also a good spot
I also love FAD African Nigerian restaurant
For spiritual items visit Yeyes Botanical
The Akoben Institue ran by Mwalimu Baruti is a great place of learning for your children

The City of Atlanta is so diverse but there’s nothing like the Westside of Atlanta

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well, first I must acknowledge my team the Mossi Warrior Clan. Without the dedication of these young brothers, I would not be able to accomplish what I have. I also must acknowledge the Kofi Piesie Research team. These brothers have put in so much scholastic work in regards to Afrikan phenomena. They have also spearheaded relations on the continent of Afrika, created clothing lines, and started businesses. I am proud to be affiliated with them. Lastly, the Madu Ndela institute for the advancement of science and culture headed by Asar Imhotep. Brother Asar is a visionary, computer scientist, historical-comparative linguist, business owner, Afrikologist, and more. I appreciate the lessons, patience, and fruit this brother has borne throughout the years.
