We had the good fortune of connecting with Billy Vetti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Billy, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I always believe that I should keep going no matter what. I always know that consistency is always what’s best. However at times I become discouraged I think about my purpose of being a creative. Mainly because of the thought of Not leaving my mark on this Earth. I want my life to be meaningful and impact others in a positive way so that’s how I know yo keep going. I come from an environment where most of the people are comfortable with “just getting by” and a lot of times they are threatened by my confidence and aspirations. I try my best to separate myself from those who choose not to be motivated. I keep going because I always think about giving up is painful and not giving up is also painful because of the emotional and physical toll it takes on your body and mental. However it’s always a reward at the end if I keep going while quitting is painful but it has no reward only regrets.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a creative I have been focusing on building my brand which is Max Julius Records. A platform in which I release music under and work with other creatives as a collective. I have had management in the past under major labels as well as have my “foot in the door” so learning the blueprint from those people helped me get to where I am now with my own platform. It definitely wasn’t easy as I have had obstacles to overcome as I’m not seeing eye to eye on a business standpoint or being promised things that necessarily didn’t happen. I overcame by just focusing on my own brand and building my own creative community, and also by not letting things escalating, separating myself from bad energy, and leaving things on a good note. Lessons I learned are to believe in myself which some may say is a blank statement, but I embed it into my mind to where no one can discourage me anymore, I focus on staying positive. I want the world to know that my brand is here to inspire creatives to be impactful without having to “fit in” or follow trends, you can have your own vibe and still be as big as anyone. Even my artistic eye and ear I have noticed and even others have noticed that it stands out and I love being able to share and express my thoughts to the people. My main goal is to inspire because I have been inspired by others who I look up to and I would love to do the same. If I can motivate another person that also fuels my own self motivation knowing I can make a change and It all starts with music. I feel music is just a stepping stone to so much more in the world of creativity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone was to visit my city I would keep it simple but dope at the same time. We’ll probably eat at one of my favorite wing spots in which I have many I like, most of my friends are artists so going to the studio is a must, I also like to go to smoke shops, shopping and piecing things together would be a cool thing to do. Last but not least. I enjoy the high museum of art for a laidback aesthetic and I like lounges in the metro Atlanta area for a more social vibe. I’m usually the type that like laidback environments, any place I can still think and come up with ideas and be inspired. So it’s always a good opportunity to build relationships with friends and create memories because that always turn into a dope song or idea.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
