We had the good fortune of connecting with Billy CEO and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Billy, why did you pursue a creative career?
At the age of 5, I was entered into my school’s talent show. I fell in love with performing. I knew It was my personal legend.

As a kid, music was also a form of escape. I was creating music, writing out my thoughts, feelings, Pain, etc. It helped me develop a unique voice. It gave me the confidence and courage to be bigger than my raspy voice.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I only compete with my self. In life most individuals are worried about what the next person is doing and subconsciously stunt their own growth or copy another person drip. I only drink my kool-aid, I vibe to my own music, I only focus on beating my self at this game called life.

I must say that mindset has made me the artist I am today confident, focused, humble, ambitious and determined. I am all ways trying to beat my last best moment, in result, I live life freely; I make mistakes, I analyze and fix them. I am one, who studies my past performances and request feedback from the crowd, like what could I have done to make my performance better?

This mindset wasn’t one I developed over night, I am thankful for a my parents. I am fortunate to have grown up with my father. He is an artist and my first mentor. He help shape my mind as a artist. As a kid if I was worried bout the next person he would always say “stop worrying about what they got & worry about yourself” or “ Beat your best self “ in other words “ if you don’t have a way make a way, focus on billy”. This is the most important thing I learned In life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Most of the time I am on the road so I get invited out to most places.

When I do have spare time you can catch me at Barber bistro Monday or Tuesday kinda best of both worlds I can spin my music, perform and just have a regular night life vibe. I absolutely love their fired lobster and shrimp.

We most likely chill and skate around the skate park my favorite spot Historic Fourth Ward Skateparknear ponce city market.

On a chill day I would do brunch at the daiquiri factory now that I’m over 21. Perfect place to grab food and great drinks.

We most likely gonna hit the studio every other night hehehe.
