Meet Big Mama German | Rapper, Singer and Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Big Mama German and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Big Mama, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success would be my Germinis, my fans. I don’t have the biggest fanbase at the moment but one day I will. My Germinis keep me grounded, they push me with their encouraging words, support, love, and just overall support of me as an artist. I love them so dearly and promise to deliver everything I can and more. Most importantly and firstly, God. He has brought me thus far. My faith and belief system. I put prayer in front of and behind everything I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Big Mama German is a witty, animated, southern slang talkin, mixed with northern accent having charismatic unorthodox Rap Artist. There isn’t anyone who sounds like me, make music like me nor possess the start quality like me. It took lots of prayer, dedication, hard work, and sleepless nights. Being a rapper, especially an Upcoming Underground Female Rapper is NOT easy. I have to demand my respect… for people especially industry people to look past my looks and take me seriously. I’m more than just this pretty face and nice body. I take my craft serious and put my all into what I do. What I want people to know about Big Mama German is I didn’t take no handouts or have a team to get me here.. I fully fund myself, I write my own lyrics and compose of my own songs, from start to finish, I grind hard, work hard and I will be in the category of one of the BEST Rappers to ever do this. Male and Female. Nothing less than top 10.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I’m from Columbia, South Carolina. Its not really much here to do and I really don’t go out or have fun (laughs) I just work my 8-5 job, go to the studio, shoot music videos, photoshoots, and thats it. My fave food spot here though, I can’t give that sauce out. You’ll have to hang out with me to know my spots (laughs).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to my Germinis! My growing little fanbase that has supported me through the start of my journey up until now. Full of boys and girls who are strong, powerful, inspiring, and educated!
