Meet Bethany Jones | Interior Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bethany Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bethany, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve known for a very long time that I wanted to do something creative as a career. While I didn’t quite know what that “thing” would be, I have always loved to create. As many do, I followed a more traditional, corporate career path out of college; but, during those years, I explored a handful of ideas, none of which stuck. It wasn’t until my husband and I built our current home in 2018 that my love for design was uncovered. It was like this unknown passion had finally revealed itself, and it was so invigorating to have found what I’d been searching for for so long.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an interior designer based in Fayetteville, GA, and my studio creates modern, timeless homes infused with nature for busy families who value an elevated client experience. What I love most about what I do is serving others through home. Interior design is a second career for me, and while it took what felt like forever to find this path, I wouldn’t change the journey. So much of what I learned from being in a service-based, corporate setting for many years has transferred over to my business, and I believe it is why I have such a deep understanding and appreciation for the importance of operational excellence and how we make our client’s feel when they work with us. One of the biggest challenges I have had to work through (and I’m still working through at times) is imposter syndrome. I did not go to school for interior design, nor is it a part of my professional background, so to one day decide that was what I was going to call myself felt intimidating. Starting and running my own business was less scary than putting myself out into the world as a designer. What I have learned, though, is to keep your head down and keep at it, and as difficult as it may be, try not to compare yourself to others. There is only one of you. Your first work isn’t going to be your best work, but you have to start somewhere. And, for every new project or opportunity that comes your way, be better than you were the last time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a bit partial to the southside of Atlanta, so we would definitely maximize our time here. We would kick off her visit with cocktails and an amazing Italian dinner at Enzo. Start the next morning with yoga at SOZO, spend a relaxing afternoon by the pool catching up on life, and end the day with sushi at Sensu. Plan an afternoon to visit Serenbe and grab brunch at The Hil. Pop up to Atlanta for a day to tour the Botanical Gardens and grab some fresh veggies from the farmer’s market. End the day with opening a bottle of wine and cooking a delicious meal at home using our fresh finds from the market. Treat ourselves to a little pampering and shopping with hydrafacials at The Skin Society and stopping by some of my favorite boutiques in Trilith – 180 Pure, Leyland Blue, Curator, and The Funky Shack. Wind down the final evening with dinner and live music on the patio at Palmer’s.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Gosh, I could list so many people here. I am beyond blessed with a super supportive husband, family, and close circle of dear friends. They have been my biggest cheerleaders from day one and have selflessly shared their wisdom, their time, and their ongoing counsel. Also, the wonderful people in our community (Town at Trilith) have shown so much love and support, and I am so grateful for the opportunities that have come my way because of them.
