We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Inglish and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth, why did you pursue a creative career?
When you feel the pull to live a certain kind of life, you just go for it—there’s really no other option. I identify as an artist and a creative, so what I create is basically an extension of who I am.

Back in my early 20s, I was all into philosophy, trying to figure out what I should do with my life. I came across a quote in Kahlil Gibran’s “The Prophet” about work and it totally resonated with me.

It says, “And what is it to work with love?
It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart, even as if your beloved were to wear that cloth.
It is to build a house with affection, even as if your beloved were to dwell in that house.
It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy, even as if your beloved were to eat the fruit.
It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit,
And to know that all the blessed dead are standing about you and watching.

After reading this, my whole view on work shifted gears. It became less about chasing money or chasing awards, and more about pouring love into it. Choosing the path of an artist? Yeah, that’s like showing some serious self-love by listening to your heart’s desires.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m Beth Inglish, a visual artist and influencer hailing from the vibrant city of Nashville, TN. My artistic journey is one of resilience and triumph, as I’ve overcome childhood trauma with unwavering determination and creativity.

My path hasn’t been an easy one, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. I’ve channeled my creativity and indomitable spirit to manage PTSD, using art as a powerful tool for healing and growth.

As the founder of a thriving artist community, I’ve brought together over 10,000 like-minded individuals, guiding them to embrace joy and break free from the constraints of fear in their creative pursuits. I’ve created an environment where artists can flourish and collaborate, nurturing their talents.

My artistic endeavors have caught the nation’s attention. My creations have graced the screens of nationally syndicated TV shows and adorned public art installations, murals, and the collections of private art enthusiasts around the world. One notable achievement is having my art showcased on the exterior of a city bus, truly integrating art into the heart of communities.

But my impact goes beyond visual art. I’ve taken my passion and expertise to a global stage, captivating audiences as a keynote speaker. I’m on a mission to empower leaders and organizations, highlighting the untapped potential of creativity for well-being. My talks resonate worldwide, inspiring leaders to tap into their own creativity and guide their teams towards collective growth.

My journey from trauma survivor to celebrated artist and speaker exemplifies the transformative power of creativity. Through my art and leadership, I’m sowing seeds of inspiration, inviting others to uncover the joy of creation and healing in their own lives and communities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re planning a visit to Nashville, TN, my personalized itinerary would stand apart from the usual travel recommendations. Having been a resident here for 17 years, I’ve honed in on what truly captures my preferences. Let me walk you through it!

First off, I’d take you on a town tour to provide a real sense of the place. Our journey would include delightful pit stops at local eateries, allowing you to savor the very best of the region’s culinary delights. Thai, Indian, Ethiopian, Salvadorian, and Mexican cuisine would be on the menu. The hidden culinary gems can be found in unassuming joints along Nolensville Road, Murfreesboro Road, and Gallatin Road. As we meander through town, we’d opt for scenic back roads rather than highways, ensuring we stumble upon the most captivating murals the city has to offer – perfect for those selfie-worthy moments. And believe it or not, this is just the beginning!

For the rest of the week, we’d switch gears and head over to Percy Priest Lake. Here, we’d treat ourselves to a pontoon boat rental, relishing the freedom to take exhilarating cliff jumps and leisurely floats in the water. The escapade would also lead us to the enchanting waterfalls of East Tennessee, where we’d embark on invigorating hikes to witness the breathtaking beauty of the Cumberland Plateau. Some of my cherished spots include Cummings Falls, Fall Creek Falls, and Rock Island.

Of course, a Nashville experience isn’t complete without an exploration of the vibrant nightlife along Broadway. An evening “city hike” would be on the agenda, guiding you through the coolest spots downtown – from rooftop bars and exquisite hotel lobbies to picturesque parks and the bustling riverfront. Here, we’d immerse ourselves in the pulse of the city, listening to live music and soaking in the electric atmosphere that emanates from this remarkable urban landscape.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My whole life is driven by my deep faith in God. Whenever I get a clear vision or a strong feeling to do something, I just go for it. I’ve learned that the best path is to trust my instincts and follow where I feel guided. When I look back, it’s amazing to see how everything has fallen into place, like a perfect puzzle designed by a higher power.

It all started when I hit rock bottom, and that’s when I felt God’s grace pulling me up. The healing process that followed was truly incredible, and during that time, I started getting these vivid ideas for artworks that I knew I had to bring to life. As time went on, I began hearing inner voices and having more visions, which eventually led me into the world of stand-up comedy and giving motivational speeches. These inspirations just keep coming, and I’m still walking this path today, following those divine nudges every step of the way.
