We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Hughes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
What leads to true success? Authenticity. That and sharing the spotlight. My biggest and most successful move on social media has always been sharing others work. Tagging everything and everyone. We cannot do this alone. When you share others creative works it not only feels good, it amplifies the creative community. I also say YES to almost all Giveaways and Donations. Over the past decade I can honestly say I see the return. From silent auctions, to promoting a local artist and creative well themed and curated giveaways I have witnessed true organic growth. The followers come marching in. Little Light Co. has never outsourced social media or used bots. I might not have 100k followers but the ones we do have are authentic and engaging and REAL. You cannot put a value on that. SO be the light and shine love on others. Your marketing will track.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hold the line! Know your worth and remember the reason you set your brand standards and collaborative guidelines is to elevate and protect your company and your creative capital. I will never private label, if you want to work with us, your know our products have a n excellent reputation and we add value to your gifting. This comes from within. All the buzz words and bullshit aside, these energies come from within. I deeply hold what the story is about this little light and how it shines when it leaves my studio and that has given us a decade of real magic.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
You can’t throw a stick in Athens without hitting something cool. Start with a stupid good latte from Condor Chocolate downtown and walk over to the My favorite Ginkgo tree on Prince Ave, marvel at the leaves while the CBD drink from Classic Citvia hits. Then shop a perfect mix of locals art and vintage goods at NEST also on Prince Ave. Head up the street to Marti’s at Midday for a healthy fresh lunch and a staple in my personal life. From there its maybe to a rt gallery over at Chase Park Warehouse or walk the new ATLAS North/South area for treats, shops, tinctures and railroad track tomfoolery. We love the railroad tracks in this town…

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
