We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beth, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I was always interested in art. I was in AP Art in high school and was automatically put into art classes when I started college. I knew I wanted to pursue a career that was artistic and creative but it took me a while to figure out exactly what. I started dating my now husband who was already in the industry of remodeling and I was able to go to job sites with him and see how much a room could transform just by adding crown molding or painting it and I knew I wanted to be a part of making those transitions happen. Still to this day though I think about a room just like a painting, I pay attention to what detail is going to catch your eye first and how your eye will move around that room as you stare at it.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I al a kitchen and bath designer. I’ve put myself into this niche after realizing it was what I enjoyed most, was most passionate about, and most knowledgeable with.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I already mentioned my husband, he had a big part of it. My parents of course by helping with school and being patient with me as I tried different majors.. I also have to give credit to my high school art teacher as well, Ari Durham. He encouraged us to create compressed signatures for out artwork, at the time it included my maiden name initial, I’ve tweaked it since, but it is my current logo. I’m not sure I ever would’ve come up with that logo without that task.
