We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Stoffel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ben, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I originally decided to start my own business because I desired more freedom in my work. Within the world of fitness coaching, coaches/trainers can be restricted in the types of training/advice they can offer, limiting the results their clients can achieve. Working for myself breaks that barrier and gives me autonomy over the type of training I deliver. Additionally, it’s always been a goal of mine to travel frequently, and starting my own business online has given me the freedom to do just that.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting my own business has not been very easy. Although I’ve got all the knowledge I need to coach and deliver successful results to my clients, I did not know how to run and manage a business. It took many hours of doing my own research and seeking advice regarding things like budget management, advertising, and sales before I could run my business more fluently.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’,m based out of Athens and my favorite restaurant here has got to be Sakura, I love hibachi. After a nice dinner, we would probably go downtown to visit one of the many bars we have here in Athens. The nightlife is lively, and one of my favorite places to go and dance is Sake Mama.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve participated in many different educational programs and worked under very knowledgeable people but more important than any of that is my parents who supported me in this journey and allowed me to do what I’ve always wanted to.
