We had the good fortune of connecting with Bea Rutledge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process with starting a business was understanding that I thrive in environments with complete autonomy, and I’m a natural-born leader. Those key elements made me confident in my ability to be a successful entrepreneur. However, as a Life/Career Coach and Recruiter, I saw a gap in the industry and decided to create BeaHired to bridge the gap.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve worked In the employment industry for over 20 years now, specifically as a recruiter. What sets me apart from other recruiters is that I’m also a certified life coach. Ultimately every recruiter’s goal is to find the perfect candidate (often referred to as a “Purple Squirrels”) for their job requisitions, which typically amounts to lucrative paydays. As a life & career coach, I naturally have a dedicated interest in the candidate’s success. That interest is what led me to where I am today. BeaHired was designed to match people with jobs, coach, and offer tools designed specifically for the applicants’ success, and it has not been easy. Aside from the challenges of a forever evolving industry, career development and employment haven’t been a priority during the Covid-19 Pandemic. I’ve learned to be innovative to remain relative as things continue to change. I want the world to know that BeaHired was created with both businesses and individuals in mind. If you feel stuck or need support in your career or business, especially in today’s world of the unknown, BeaHired is just a click or download away.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When visiting Atlanta, my friends know I’m down for a good time without too much fuss. I feel obligated to make sure all my family and friends go downtown, specifically Auburn Ave, to visit the Martin Luther King Jr., Historical Park., it’s my way of making them appreciate the city. Although Atlanta has tons of good places to eat and drink, I’m a Brooklyn girl past my “party” years; two of my favorite spots to hit up are BQE lounge and Brklyn Kitchen. Both spots offer a comfortable atmosphere, good food, and great music. They specifically give me an at-home NY vibe with a taste of southern hospitality. It doesn’t get any better.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my family, specifically my mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, and best friend, Shemeka. One of the most challenging parts of growing a business is marketing with a limited budget. It means so much to me when you continuously send referrals, repost my ads and share my business photos without me asking. I can’t thank you enough.
