We had the good fortune of connecting with Bastian Fischer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bastian, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
The inspiration on my life comes from those closest to me, whether it is family, friends or business partners. All of them are aligned with their values and use their skillset to help. Growing up I remember my dad leaving the house before I woke up and barely catching me before I went to bed again. His long shifts as a trauma surgeon early in his career meant I did not get to see him much. Yet every minute he was home, he spent time with me and every minute he was away I knew he was helping and saving people. Looking back at my childhood I understand that his role as a father was never easy, but I’ve seen the good he has done for others and for me. The values he taught me and his work ethic inspire me. Life is never easy, but once you know why you do the things you do, it is always worth it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Well Adjusted Buckhead we focus on connecting with and understanding our patient’s health and and their concerns. We aim to create an environment that has patients wanting to come back and focus on their health, a space that they can trust and feel comfortable in. While chiropractic care is at the heart of our practice we have other modalities that align with our philosophy of promoting and accelerating the body’s natural healing response.

The environment that the team has created at Well Adjusted makes me the most proud. I can truly say that I love what I do and I am happy that I persevered and decided to stay in the US after graduating from Chiropractic school. The amount of times that I wanted to say f it and go back home are too many to count. There are just so many hard days that people never talk about. Whether it is missing your family, because you have not seen them in 2 years, uncertainty of whether you’re allowed to stay in the US and so many more. However as long as you consistently show up and show up for yourself you can overcome any hardship. You truly never know who you are going to meet, how you are going to change someone’s life or how someone might change yours, but the one thing you gotta do is show up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would show them how I experienced the city when I first came here, so that my friends from back home could grasp my journey a bit better. The first spot I ever ate at was Stockyard at Marietta square. They have a burger called Dirty South, which is a BBQ bacon burger with Mac and cheese on it and I thought it does not get more American than this. Marietta square would also be a nice relaxed start on day one so that way the jet-lag would not be too bad.

The days after that I would probably show them the touristy things so down town, centennial olympic park, coca cola world and college football hall of fame. I would also take them to a Braves game, because baseball is pretty much non-existent back home and that is always a fun experience. And once we are at the battery we can’t forget about PBR because a mechanical bull inside a bar is far beyond comprehension to the European mind.

Since I like the outdoors a lot I would also take them to Kennesaw mountain to show them a bit of nature and a nice view or just go for a walk along the beltline (although the beltline was never really my thing). Lastly if the opportunity presented itself I would take them to an NFC fight around the city. I’ve had the pleasure of working with and meeting a lot of the fighters and it is always a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to thank my entire family for were I am today and will be forever grateful for their support. I came to the US by myself at the age of 19. This was the hardest and biggest challenge of my life thus far. Despite the distance they have always had my back and I felt their support even if they were not near. For some odd reason it even got us closer together and our bond is now stronger than ever. I love them all dearly and their support means the world to me.
