We had the good fortune of connecting with Bassador and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bassador, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Philadelphia, Pa and I grew up in one of the ruffest housing projects (Richard Allen.) It was literally survival mode for me all my life in the environment I was raised in. It taught you how to make something out of nothing and with that mentality early on in life, I knew I could survive anywhere in the world by figuring it out. That experience alone, made me a man who’s always willing to go above and behind for things that will benefit me and my family. I learned to be a leader and not a follower. Then I birthed BASSADOR (leader by example.)

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well my art is based off of my real life experiences and encounters. The good or the bad molded me and many others but some aren’t here to tell it or paint it so I feel it’s my duty to share it all to the world. My life is like a book based on a true story. So everyday I work to tell it and depict it in my music and clothing. What makes my brand and story unique and different is, that what is said and shown through my work is not make believe but yet authentic My story was made and recoded in my mind every day of my life and I never knew what was in store for my story tomorrow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well Monday, I would pick them up in the afternoon and go get some amazing curry salmon for lunch at the reading terminal downtown and then after take a walk through the gallery and just explore the mall and Market Street. Later that day maybe hit a small social club west of downtown and have a few beers, catch up on life and possibly watch a game or two.
Tuesday. I would pick them up in the afternoon and go explore a little history in Philadelphia along with other educational activities.
Wednesday. If it’s nice outside, we can meet up at penns landing and enjoy activities, great finger food as well as the breeze from the water and have some mixed frozen drinks
Thursday. Meet up in the morning and go get some authentic philly breakfast from the dog house on Germantown avenue and after that, swing by my old neighborhood and show them where I grew up at and also explain the differences between the old structure and the new one.
Friday, Saturday. We hitting old city, south street, Cherry Hill & Northern Liberties…
In all areas we will have lots of fun, drinks and mingling with the Philadelphians and myself….
P.S. No your drinking limit

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I can honestly say that my biggest supporter and encouraging person was my close cousin/brother CHINO (R.I.P.), who I lost to the streets of Philadelphia. Whatever success I accomplish, I always feel like he should enjoy it with me because if he was here, we would be together all the time.
