We had the good fortune of connecting with Bari Lutalo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bari, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business provides inspirational music that is both entertaining as well as thought provoking and spiritual. I want to put on musical events/ festivals that can bring people together from all backgrounds, cultures, and ages and encourage youth to find a positive path through the arts and expression.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a rapper, producer, and instrumentalist that pulls from a wide range of influences, emotions, and personal experiences. My music is a reflection of where I was at mentally and spiritually at the time I made it. It took me years and years of trial and error to get to where I’m at today. It took lots of practice, lots of sacrifice, and also lots of fun and success too. All of the challenges I overcame by just continuing to create art regardless of the circumstances. I want the world to know that I’m here to entertain and inform you. Get your bodies and your minds moving. I’m an artist with a lot to say and I represent the world. I’m from Baltimore but I’m also a world citizen. My background is multicultural and my music reflects that. I’ve learned to be myself and embrace all that is within me. Even the things that aren’t always viewed as positive or cool. That’s the only way I can grow. I hope my fans can take this into their own lives too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the station north area of Baltimore city to enjoy some live music. I would get some from Keystone Korner and Teavolve over in harbor east. There’s some really good restaurants there. I love Patterson Park and Druid Hill in the summer time. Those are great places to just walk and experience nature. We can also visit the Baltimore Art Museum just to take in some history and culture. Great place to get inspired.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my Mom and Dad for believing in me. Tenable Music for giving me a musical/business platform for me to release my art. The Autobiography of Malcolm X and The New Earth by Eckhart Tolle for providing a spiritual platform and philosophy for me to journey into self discovery. And God of course.
