We had the good fortune of connecting with Barcaas Holloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Barcaas, why did you pursue a creative career?
Music is a big thing for me. Since i was 13 I always wanted to pursue a career in music because it was my mental getaway no matter what problems i ran into. My freshman year in college i got heavy into photography so that was something on the side for me too.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m currently an artist for a upcoming label named COG (Changing of the Game Entertainment). I don’t consider myself to be too busy for people especially if they’re really close to me. The people I work with in general are like family to me and are very professional at what they do. It says a lot cuz not everybody my family. I’m co-founder of a business along with my partner whose the original founder of it all. I try to balance a lot of things because I’m currently in school and music is not the only craft I’m working on right now. Photography is still a thing for me so I definitely don’t wanna push that to the side at the moment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love my city. If or whenever I’m in the city my favorite places to stop by is Little Five Points, Piedmont park, or Atlantic Station. I do recommend these areas for anyone who taking trips to the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna make a special shoutout to my family, friends and my team. I’d never say that they didn’t play a role in my life in general. They’re the reason i wanna go even harder everyday. .
