We had the good fortune of connecting with Bahja Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bahja, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well, when I first started music I had no idea how interesting it would make business for me. When I started my business I really wanted to give my energy to something else that I’m passionate about. My ultimate goal is to be a mogul.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I make R&B music and I pretty much write everything myself. That’s really what makes me different because anytime you’re listening to my music, you’re actually hearing what I’m going through now or what I’ve gone through in the past. I arrange all my backgrounds also, so that makes me super proud as well. I got my start in the OMG Girlz. I’m a founding member, but outside of that, it opened so many door creatively and business wise for me. The challenges come, but I’m built and born for challenge. I haven’t seen a problem I couldn’t solve yet. So for me, it’s just about keeping your eyes on what’s in front of you and not focusing on what’s behind you. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in all of this is just to keep going. You never know when your hard work is about to pay off, so you don’t want to give up at the finish line. Just keep moving forward and focus on yourself and your personal growth. As far s my brand and story goes, I want people to know that anything is possible. When people think of me and my brand, I want them to think ” she never gave up and look how it payed off!”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I’m honestly not an outside kind of girl, so we’re definitely going to eat and get drinks whenever we go for sure. I love seafood and Mexican food so we’ll definitely hit a few of those places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I have to shoutout my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Secondly I’d like to thank my family, my team, and my supporters for always rocking with me no matter what. They genuinely are the reason why I’m able to do anything and Im so grateful.
