We had the good fortune of connecting with B.Tierraa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi B.Tierraa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has been an underlying theme in my life career wise. I took a risk leaving the broadcast industry, but that led me to the advertising industry. Then my family and I, took a risk leaving our hometown to pursue new opportunities. I left yet another good corporate career and went full speed into entrepreneurship. It was nearly a year before we landed our first multi-million dollar client. Just take the risk, you have everything to gain.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an artist has been the only consistent passion I’ve kept as I transitioned through different professions. It’s always been natural but not easy. I struggled with feeling like I was playing, or championing a hobby. I overcame it by not stopping and continuing to show up everyday. You can’t be an imposter of something if you do it everyday.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
hmm, I’d probably start off with some familiar favorites like a sporting event, concert or popular restaurant. We’d have to stop by the High museum or Peters Street Station, for some arts and culture. I love to thrift shop and Atlanta has some of the most eclectic and unique spots, so we’d definitely hit Little Five Points or the beltline. We’d lastly end off, over in the Howell Mill and Midtown areas for some entertainment, night life and good vibes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family, both given and chosen. I am who I am because of the foundation that was laid by my given family. The encouragement and support they give me is exactly what I need in times of doubt. Now my chosen family, has challenged and inspired me to always go harder. My family is definitely who i do it for.
