We had the good fortune of connecting with Azya Hendricks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Azya, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, my thought process behind starting my business was because I was tired of feeling miserable at my 9 to 5. Everyday was a push to stay motivated just to work and pay bills! It was a cycle I had to break. I feel so much more free!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a up and coming makeup artist plus size curvy blogger and so much more! I’m proud that I took a leap a faith and stayed consistent with it! I got to where I am by doing the inner work, manifestation, prayer and consistency! Success is never easy, I’m just getting warmed up! Not even where I want to be, but thank God I’m not where I use to be. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is to believe in yourself even if nobody see the vision, the vision is not for them to understand only for you! I want them to know that I’m just a young black Queen with a dream just like you! I’m here to inspire people watching, let them know that only we hold the power to change our lives for the better!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go bar hopping, visiting the selfie museum because ya girl love good selfie! And of course find some good eats. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow, such a great question! So many influencers I’ve watched coming up that kept me encouraged. And I always felt like if they could do it so could I! I would like to thank my significant other who supports me the most with taking my photos and allowing me to chase my dream with no restrictions! He’s the real MVP! Anyone who’s encouraged me to keep pressing along the way, they are appreciated!
