We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayo Weird and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayo, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal is for my brand to be global. Want my just my name to be able to generate income not just for me but for whoever I collaborate with not just in music but in films and even technology softwares, just for the fact that I do have an higher level education in Information technology.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So the name of my company is called Socially Awkward Ent.

It’s looked at as Record label because I do handle distribution if an artist needs assistance with that.

But socially awkward ent is a production company / talent development agency..

The @djweirdnasty page on instagram is actually Socially Awkward TV which is the department the Introduce talent that’s under the SAE umbrella or that has partnered with SAE.

Bringing news within the company promotion and updates within the company’s and just Vlogs from me of whoever is under the umbrella or in partnership

The reason why it’s still named djweirdnasty because it was my ig page to promote me as a dj which is why I still make vids of me djing and show vlogs of prior dj gigs I performed at. Which is professionally edited by me myself.

Starting off as a dj before getting to the position I’m at there were a lot of nonsense to endure, like getting black balled, getting attacked by other platforms or even burned out of payments multiple times and just not getting a certain level of respect because I wasn’t who ppl want me to be.

But the difference is unlike most platforms I can actually do multiple things so. If I have to do things alone I will and have been doing it for a while.

And i been on tv multiple times so I must be doing something right.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my best friend to Jack in the box in Los Angeles.

I’m from Philadelphia, Pa but me being blessed with the opportunities from my dj career I was able work as a tour dj for an indie label which had traveling to multiple states in the US and my favorite place. To go was Jack in the box every time I was in LA. And then I’d take em to Santa Monica beach where they dance crews be performing at.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give credit to everyone who took the time out to just view product produced by me whether it was a song a music video or a mini film I made with just a camera phone. Even if it’s like 5 views and 3 likes that’s give me enough motivation to keep thriving.
