We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayesha Ward| Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayesha Ward|, what role has risk played in your life or career?
With risk taking I believe some risk are worth taking if you believe in where your going! If your scared and not too sure the risk you take will always be the wrong one. For me I believe in myself, I believe in where I have already come from and where I am now destined to go. I once was the scared to take a risk on myself and that is why I’m so upset with myself because if I had started way back then; I’d already be ahead of where I’m aiming to be. Needless to say nothing is quite possible if you don’t take that risk we all have to start somewhere. Why not risk it atleast you won’t be able too say you wish you HAD.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Braider but I Specialize in Kid Braids! I think what sets me apart from must is my way with the kids. Before actually deciding to go full-time with my Braider Business I had been working from home for many different major companies! I feel like working customer service these last 10yrs. has given me the tools I needed to soar in my current field. Dealing with kids requires a lot of patience and understanding ESPECIALLY when your the one to do their hair. I have been told many times my patience is “God Giving”. lol I like to think it is. I’ve been braiding for years but this has been my year where I set everything else aside and actually perfected my craft! I haven’t looked back since. I know that there are many challenges ahead but so far the ones I have overcome I’m prepared for it all! An important lesson I have learned along my journey is that if it doesn’t make you happy don’t pursue it. If your looking at the money outcome of a situation find a different venture. I am passionate and love what I do and that is what makes me different from the rest!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hmmmm me being a true ATLien would have us a whole itinerary laid out lol. I must say my new fond fun places would be The Painted Pin in Atlanta it has its own nice vibe The Ponce City Rooftop is out of this world great view of the surrounding city! I love food ima big foodie I would definitely have to suggest GRIPS in SouthWest Atlanta for a late night food eat; you won’t be disappointed!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I, would like to dedicate my big shoutout too Montavious Daniels Founder of BeyondTheSurfaceWash a couple months ago I watched him go into business for himself and that reason alone gave me the push to pursue my talent as well THRIVE in it! He doesn’t know how much of a inspiration he has been!
