We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayanna Aponte and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayanna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When it comes to risk, I have always been the calculated risk-taker. You do not get anywhere by playing it safe but also it has to make sense. It is almost like playing a game of Chess. Take this risk if it is going to get you to your goal and not sabotage everything you have worked for.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Fashion has always been my safe place. It is an endless world of creativity and living outside the box. I started freelance years ago and the satisfaction of watching others see their full potential is amazing. I love helping others turn their light up and get a confidence boost. When you look good, you feel good.

My biggest challenge was myself. I often doubted myself and did not trust what I could do. One day I just got up and told myself to just go for it. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just do it. And I did. It was the best decision yet!

To the world, just go for it. You have to start somewhere.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love anything outdoors! So maybe a hiking trail, waterfall, pool, beach, you name it. Then of course food! I have a list of restaurants I want to try. I would just create us a food tour and knock off some places on that list.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This goes to my village, The ones who keeps me humble but yet gas me up every time they get. Love You All!!
