We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayanah Hanaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ayanah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think that without taking risks, you never really give yourself a chance to see how far you can go in life and what you can accomplish under pressure. I believe risk are necessary to succeed in anything. Small or large. Every risk is worth the challenge because you either succeed or you learn.
What should our readers know about your business?
For starters, I want the world to know that I am simply a woman who wakes up every day and shows up for herself. I don’t let bad days and bad moments interfere with my goals, I guess to answer the question that’s what sets me apart. It has definitely not been easy being an entrepreneur. I have seven running businesses and it is a lot of work, but it is worth every single second of every hour. Some lessons I’ve learned along the way, is that everything is a lesson not a failure, also that putting it off until tomorrow just gives you more work the next day. I don’t know which business is my favorite because they are all so different, but I can say I really love helping other women feel beautiful, and helping them along their business journey.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I won’t sit here and lie and act like I go out. Especially since Covid I haven’t been anywhere. But if my friend was visiting for a week, definitely walk Stone Mountain. We would also go to Ponce city market probably twice because there’s so much food to eat places to shop, if it’s open maybe the bodies exhibit and the high museum. We would definitely do some shopping, ice-skating, and eat a bunch of different restaurants LOLWe will probably also go wine-tasting and maybe to Six Flags!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m really thankful to my parents and my ex for always being very supportive of me, and always being willing to help me if I need them. I’ve learned from all of my parents, I say all because in addition to my mom and dad I have a step mom and step dad. My mom is a business owner and I got my entrepreneurial spirit from her, my dad although not an entrepreneur, has always been a boss and a hard worker. My stepmom is extremely creative and has so many talents, and my stepfather is extremely supportive and believe anything can be done if you put your mind to it. I’ve also been fortunate to have started a business when I was still with my ex. He was my biggest fan and he helped me to believe in myself and believe that I can do anything. I could go on and on and mention cousins and close friends and books LOL I just appreciate everyone who has helped whether or not they know it.
