We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayana Billingsley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
This is a great question because till this day it’s the “why” to what I do everyday. Growing up I loved fashion, that was the way I expressed myself. It was the perfect way to show off my personality. My style would literally switch based upon my mood. But one day I was out shopping for an outfit and I realized I found myself at multiple stores. So I thought to myself, there’s not that many stores that cater to all different fashion styles. I just wanted to make the shopping experience more convenient and more diverse and unique. I wanted to give people a place where they can shop and they can be chic, sophisticated, casual, vintage and etc.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Riche Allure is a women’s clothing boutique that caters to all unique fashion styles. We carry clothing apparel, accessories and swimwear. We assure affordable pricing with all of our latest trends. Our mission is to make you feel confident no matter the size of the personality.

The most important factor of being successful is being consistent with everything that I do, no matter what. It’s also important to listen to your audience and make sure you build a bond with them, let them connect with you and your business.

One challenge I had to overcome was stepping out of my comfort zone and taking risk. I’m usually a quiet person but you can’t be quiet about something your passionate about!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom definitely deserves her credit, she was the one who sat me down and said “you should do fashion”. Every since then I sprinted into where I am today. I also want to thank my family, friends, college teachers and my boyfriend. Everyone has been such an amazing support. I would recommend everyone to check out The Power of Mental Discipline by Ian Tuhovsky and Think and Grow Rich for Women by Sharon Lechter. Last but not least my clientele that supports my business Riche Allure. I appreciate everyone from the bottom of my heart!
