We had the good fortune of connecting with Awesome Rise and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Awesome, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Totally depends on what you personally think giving up means. It’s ok to pause regroup refocus rebrand revamp. And it’s ok to completely stop! You’ll know! You knew when it was time to start! Even if you started a little later than what you thought you should have, even if the start was slow and uncertain! You knew. And you’ll know if it’s slow down, take a break, or stop! Always remember your why! If you still have a why, if you still have a purpose, if you still have the passion, I would recommend not to give up. Things happen; such as life!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Listen. When pain becomes your passion, and your misery becomes your masterpiece, you create beautiful timeless magic! I LOVE my art! I’m sensitive about it but not too sensitive because I simply allow it to flow. There will be some who see my vision and some who see their own! Such as life! I’m proud of myself for sticking with something. Was it easy? Ha! Do you know me?! Nothing comes at me easily! I am an overthinker which causes a lot of wasted time, missed opportunities (if there can be such), a lot of dark days, you get the idea. It’s rough. What lessons have I learned? Live and let live. Seriously. In the world where people are entitled and let’s just call it out, SPOILED AMERICANS, You just have to live and let live. What I need people to really grasp about me and my brand is that it’s authentic, as authentic as they come. It’s freeing, flowing, loving and growing! that’s it, that’s all! I’m excited for what’s to come. I’m excited to see how much God will allow me to grow, trust and be trusted. As a young professional it is hard to see a purpose sometimes behind the things you do. It’s easy, so easy to look to the left and the write at someone else’s paper and compare but when you truly deeply and wholly believe in yourself and what you have been designed to do, none of that phases you. Look ahead and trust in what lies within. That’s how you overcome many challenges and self doubt. Remember this one thing while you’re on your journey, friends, “there is nothing OUTSIDE of you that has power OVER you! trust me!” And remember Awesome told you so! Happy creating!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly I’m all about food and LSU! being in Nashville I try and support all black owned businesses! I have a list, so whatever you want I got a few perfect places! Let’s ride! No sweat!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely owe my current energy Shayla the up most respect and credit! On top of being an amazing partner, she is super supportive of me and ANY dream or goal I have. I’m a handful. I switch lanes all the time. My ideas are always all over the place and I am ever changing. She misses no beat! THANK YOU Shay for believing in me always, for having my back always, fixing my crown when I needed it and never letting me give up! You inspire me! I love you, Honey!
