Meet Avery Webb | CEO and founder of Mommy & MEE Natural Soaps

We had the good fortune of connecting with Avery Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Avery, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started Mommy & MEE due to my son’s eczema. Over time it became very stressful and expensive trying to find the right products that could help with the eczema. However, I started to do research for about a year on different oils and natural ingredients. That could help with helping his skin and healing it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I started Mommy & MEE I made sure to do mu research. I wanted it to be something that people could use on any skin type. For about a year after picking my ingredients I began to make soap. My first batch was horrible and looked my baby food. So, I had to go back to the drawing board with mixing my ingredients. The second batch of soap I made the PH levels were to high. This just made me more determined to find the perfect recipe for my soap. It wasn’t until the third time that I finally got it right. I literally screamed with excitement when I tested the soap, and it was the perfect PH level. My biggest thing was to not give up no matter how hard it got. I made my son an owner of the business as well. Which is how I got the name Mommy & MEE. If I could tell anybody in the world about my bar soap, it would be that it is safe for all skin types. From babies to elderly people and it does not dry your skin out. In fact, our bars are very moisturizing, and many people have told me that they are long lasting.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of the first things we would do is definitely go eat at Redstone or Cheesecake Factory. Those are two of my favorite places to eat. After we would probably go to the Mall Of America, which is always a big thing for people that don’t live here. I would make sure we got to church. That is a big part of me due to the fact my dad is a pastor. We could hit up a play or local events in the area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to parents who really helped push me to making soap. Along with my brother who made my website and my family and friends who let me test my soaps on them prior to selling them. Lastly, I would like to thank my significant other LaVert, who help me get my logo and is always willing to give ideas. They all have supported me in different ways.
