We had the good fortune of connecting with Ava Amar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ava, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind Baddie On A Budget Agency, was originally created to be a boutique that sells clothing. I realized that as a model and influencer that there is no retirement plan in this industry. So I thought to myself “why not take what I’ve learned in this industry and apply it to the younger generation. Therefore Baddie On A Budget Agency came about.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My current art of choice is photography. Something that I think that sets me apart is that I’m capable of being a one man team, as I recently got certified in Visual Design and Adobe Photoshop and these are the main components of my business. What I’m most proud of is that in the pan of six months we have created a very lucrative business, and have become accredited and I’m so excited to be able to move into my studio soon.

As I said earlier, I used to be a model and beauty influencer myself and it was definitely not easy, but I have learned from my experiences. The main challenge I faced, was because of my skin color. So, realizing that my skin color didn’t define me was a turning point in my career. Also, I’ve realized that most people won’t believe in you until they see the results from your vision.

My brand and my story are intertwined. As for my story its about building yourself from the ground up and believing that no matter the obstacles you can still achieve the goals you set, thats why i’m here today. My brand is all about encouraging others to acquire income from something they love and are passionate about. We lead by example, we help you set your goals and push you to accomplish them, by assisting with content creation and landing those brand deals, while encouraging you to stay consistent, that is key.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of the most fun and interesting places to check out in my experience. Slutty Vegan, Selfie Museum, District Atlanta, American Deli, Atlanta Breakfast Club, Patria Cocina. Elsewhere Brewing. As you can say I love to eat have a good time. Cannot wait for my next visit!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to Alvin Sampath my partner and motivator. When I was ready to give up and ready to go back to a 9-5, he gave me the motivation to keep going and to find a back up plan. I did just that!!
