Hi Autumn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After working in the events industry for many years and gaining experience in all aspects—planning, design, catering, logistics, etc.—I realized there was a gap in the market for a comprehensive, all-in-one solution. I saw an opportunity to create a one-stop shop where clients could find everything they needed for a successful event in one place. My goal was to simplify the process, reduce stress for clients, and deliver exceptional results every time.

From venue options and catering to photography, entertainment, event staff, design, floral arrangements, and more, we’ve carefully curated a network of trusted professionals to ensure that every event is seamless and unforgettable.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, Events by Autumn Wood, is centered around creating memorable and personalized experiences for every client. While a typical event planner may focus solely on the visual aspects of your special day, what sets us apart is our ability to provide everything in one place for our clients. We create a seamless and stress-free planning experience, eliminating the overwhelm that often comes with coordinating an event.

Ever been to an event where things didn’t flow smoothly? I’ve experienced many, both as a guest and while working in the industry, and I knew there had to be a better way. That’s why I built a business model where all vendors and services—catering, decor, event staff, photography, and more—are managed in one place. This approach ensures every detail flows seamlessly, giving our clients the freedom to truly enjoy their day.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. It required perseverance, learning from failures, and always staying true to my vision. Some of the challenges I faced included balancing creativity with practicality, overcoming resource constraints, and establishing trust with clients in a competitive industry.

What excites me most about what I do is seeing the joy on my clients’ faces when their visions come to life, knowing I played a role in their special moments. The most important lesson I’ve learned is that success lies in building strong relationships, staying adaptable, and maintaining a passion for what you do. I’ve built a business that not only plans beautiful events but ensures every experience is effortlessly organized and memorable for everyone involved.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d take them hiking in the North Georgia Mountains. There’s nothing like the peaceful trails, fresh air, and stunning views—places like Amicalola Falls or Brasstown Bald are beautiful. After working up an appetite, we’d head to Helen, GA, for a cozy vibe, maybe explore the little shops, and grab something sweet or a warm drink.

For breakfast, we’d have to hit Thumbs Up Diner at least once—I swear by their chicken tenders and pancakes; it’s the ultimate comfort combo that never misses. For something fun and exciting, I’d take them to Topgolf, where we’d probably spend more time laughing at our swings than scoring points, or to Andretti for some go-kart racing and arcade games. It’s the perfect mix of scenic views, great food, and unforgettable fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to God. The guidance, grace, and blessings I’ve received have been the foundation of my journey. Through every challenge and triumph, I’ve relied on divine wisdom and strength to navigate my path. God has provided opportunities, opened doors I never thought possible, and surrounded me with love and support through amazing people. Without this divine presence, none of my successes would have been possible. I am deeply grateful for the faith that sustains me every day. To God be the glory for everything I’ve accomplished and continue to strive for.
