We had the good fortune of connecting with Auston Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Auston, what do you want people to remember about you?
I envision my legacy as one of true engagement with life, where I not only captured amazing stories but also became an integral part of people’s narratives. I aspire to be remembered as an inspirational figure, someone who embraced the world with open arms and an adventurous spirit. My desire is to be seen as a person who never allowed failures or obstacles to hinder my exploration and zest for life. My legacy, I hope, will be a testament to a life fully lived and a world thoroughly experienced.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I identify myself as a visual storyteller, a term I prefer over a videographer, photographer, or director. My passion lies in telling captivating stories through any medium possible, setting both myself and my company apart from others.

From a young age, two things captivated me: stories and cameras. Whether it was a book, movie, or photograph, the emotions conveyed in a story intrigued me. And cameras? They were my tool of choice to express myself. My childhood catchphrase, “Let me see,” quickly transformed into a lifelong pursuit of capturing others’ stories from behind the lens.

But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. One of my ongoing challenges, which I view as a valuable learning opportunity, is maintaining authenticity in everything I create. Ensuring that my work is a reflection of who I am and that it resonates with my inner self, is a daily undertaking. It’s not just about producing something; it’s about enjoying the process and creating something that’s inherently me.

I believe that being true to oneself and having fun in what you do is the core of genuine creativity. My story is one of intrinsic passion and a continuous journey toward self-discovery and authenticity. That’s what I want the world to understand about me and my brand. My art is more than a job; it’s an extension of who I am, and it’s about connecting with people through shared emotions and experiences.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d aim to provide an unforgettable experience filled with local flavors, lively atmospheres, and a touch of adventure. Our week would be packed with activities, so buckle up!

Starting strong, I’d pick them up from the airport and whisk them off to brunch at the real Milk and Honey in College Park. Because every unforgettable day begins with a hearty brunch, right?

Next, we’d head to the BeltLine to rent bikes or scooters, soaking up the local art scene, stopping at a few breweries, and just immerse ourselves in the vibe of the city.

For dinner, we’d explore the culinary delights at the Works, offering myriad options to tantalize our taste buds.

Afterward, we’d secure a reservation at Your Third Spot to indulge in some classic arcade games. Our night would then hinge on the day of the week

– **Monday:** Off to Monday Night Garage to experience the best loft mixes, controlling the rhythm of the night.
– **Tuesday:** We’d hit Rock Steady, vibing to some Amapiano music and dancing the night away.

From scrumptious brunches to thrilling nightlife, I’d ensure my best friend experienced the heartbeat of the city in the most authentic way possible. It wouldn’t just be a visit; it would be a vivid memory etched into their soul.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Two people have really helped me along the way. First and foremost, Regis and Kahren Bethencourt, the owners of Creativesoul Photo, ignited the spark in me to chase my passion at a young age. They invested invaluable time and energy, in teaching, positioning, and inspiring me to pursue what I love.

Next, I must give a shout-out to Richard Williams, the owner of SkATL. Richard instilled in me the essence of enjoying what you do, turning work into play, and infusing it with joy. Through him, I discovered a world of travel opportunities, broadening my horizons and enriching my life’s experience. His mantra of fun and dedication is something I’ve carried with me, shaping my approach to life and my passion.
