We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Most of my Biggest breakthroughs or songs recorded came when I almost gave up. Trust your vision and trust your capabilities to execute and create. Don’t give up on your dreams but know when you need to reroute. Try to have wider perspective to know if what you’re doing is worth it. Often times it just feels right to your heart and it could be wrong because your heart can lie to you. Having a good analysis of where you’re at and where you’re trying to go will help you properly prioritize your goals. Don’t confuse action for progress, you could spend your whole life mining at the wrong wall because it seems like what everyone else is doing. Trust what you’re doing will yield rewards but do research to know you’re going the right way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
You gotta prepare yourself for greatness. Simple as that. It’s hard to describe how much work it takes because if I did it’d sound crazy. To make money as a creative is hyper competitive so you gotta find what sets you apart. you gotta have a belief in what you are able to do and what you will be able to do. Too many people quit because they suck at first which just simply means you don’t want it bad enough. When your ability to action is close to how much you enjoy doing something great things will come from it. Because you’ll be working hard at what you love. It’s not always easy, most of it isn’t easy then lightning will strike and you’ll make magic but it’s preparing yourself for greatness. I hope that my art helps individuals with mental health issues and if I could lower the suicide rate. I think the worlds at a messed up place now where everyone’s getting bombarded with information alot of which gets paid to be put infront of you. So I try to just be as authentic as possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout my family, friends and God for giving me the opportunities. Thank you to anybody who believes me including myself.I met Deante Hitchcock and he gave me 300$ which I put towards studio time so I appreciate that I’ll get him back. I appreciate chipotle too. On everything I appreciate chipotle their food is just too good for some reason. The number one person that inspire me at a young age and made me actually believe in my dreams is Jahseh Onfroy so for that I’m forever grateful. So yeah, Shoutout my parents and all my friends I ain’t trynna name rn.
