Hi AURA., why did you pursue a creative career?
Music has been a way for me to express myself throughout my life and has continued to reassure me that I am not alone and have a place. I decided to pursue a music career after college when I had more time to give to my passion. I’m also financially stable now, so I can more easily invest in myself. I put my raw emotions and healing instruments into my music to connect with others and uplift through my music and, most importantly, spread good vibes.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an engineer for a tech company. It was not easy to get to where I am today; I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science and had to grind hard until I graduated. I juggled internships, jobs, extracurriculars like dance team, and more as I achieved my degree in 3 years. The most important lessons I’ve learned have been after graduating during a pandemic. I’ve learned about myself, my limits, my passions, and my overall purpose, which is to help others with my gifts and talents. I want others to know that you can be a nerd and be creative. Any dream can be made a reality as long as you have the vision and are committed to achieving your goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love going to Jeju Sauna and Wellbeing. Whenever I’m in Atlanta, I make sure to get food from Good Girl Gourmet (she’ll make anything BOMB) and Peach Cobbler Cafe for soul food. VIP Wings on Old National is my go-to for wings. I’m spreading my wings in the city more, because I’m moving to Atlanta soon and want to explore!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my family for their support as I chase my dreams and God!
