Meet Asia Banks | Fashion Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Asia Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand would truly be my faith and staying true to myself. My faith is the gift that kept me motivated and grounded while staying true to myself allowed me to have individuality while showcasing my personality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My true passion for design began once I obtained her bachelors in Graphic Design at Full Sail University. Full Sail provided me the tools needed to build the best company for my future and business. My main focus is to provide affordable luxury to the everyday person. As a self taught designer, I have created a total of 16 bags that range from different shapes and sizes. The road to designing was not easy, a lot of things I learned about fashion and handbags was off of trail and error and I am so grateful for those failures because it made me a better designer.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting in the area I would immediately book a trip to Hawaii! We see each other all the time so I would definitely book a girls trip instead. It was the most beautiful place that I’ve ever been to. I always recommend there because the natives are so kind and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We would wake up early and hit the beach so that she could see how clear the water was and then go get some breakfast from Button-up Cafe, then go shopping of course and end the afternoon on a boat ride looking at turtles and exotic fish.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my parents, Angel and Willie, for showing me the example of leadership and love. Shoutout to my grandmother for showing me how to properly run a business. Shoutout to my design mentors for giving me the tools needed to excel in design. Shoutout to my sisters, Alia and Jada, because they show me the meaning of unconditional love and support. Shoutout to my friends, Kierstyn& Don, Dani & Joe, Dre & Elise, Tishay & KVN, for holding me accountable and lifting me up! and a HUGE shoutout to my husband for supporting ALL of my big visions and allowing me to fully flourish in my dreams.
