Meet Ashton Huffman: Makeup artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashton Huffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashton, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I knew from a young age that I had something different. I knew I could make people smile and feel appreciated and beautiful. When I graduated college, I knew something was missing. So I took something I knew nothing about, which was makeup, and took what I knew which was how to make people feel wanted, and started a business that exceeds my expectations and fills my cup more than I could have ever imagined.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Anyone can do makeup. There are millions of videos on the internet and so many talented people teaching those videos BUT the way you make people feel sets you apart from the rest. All of my clients have become my friends and I take major pride in that. I can continue feeding my craft with classes and can continue to hop on trends but without being personable, you will have nothing. And I have everything in my business because of my ability to make people feel beautiful before they even sit in my chair.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I can’t lie, being a mother of two under the age of two, I don’t think I’m the driver of the continuous fun bus, but I can always make a home cooked meal and love on you from the second you walk in my door. But I will say, our local winery is so chill and the vibe is nice. Feathers edge in ballground GA! Love them there!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I started this company, there weren’t many doing what I did. I honestly didn’t know anyone in my circle, small or large scale that was doing makeup BUT now that my business has grown into something bigger I’ve been blessed to come in contact with people that fuel my fire to the fullest. Which are Mary Rooks (Maerooksbeauty) Andrea (andreamariephotos) and Shelby Robinson (thistle.woodphoto) they keep my creativity alive and keep me motivated to pursue my dreams
